their 2018 campaign ended up unexpectedly turning sour and their 2018 1st was pick 4.. Connor Rozee was still on the board at pick 4.

Looking at the timeline… Maybe, just maybe… Redman staying at The Dons wasnt really Redman‘s choice?..

maybe we went cold on Redman.. he took the hint.. and stayed at the bombers.

this all went down around the same that Oliver, if the rumours are true, was injured and has apparently reached out to Darren Burgess for help and, at the same time, probably vented his frustrations with the Demon’s club doctors/fitness staff etc to Darren..

Burgess informs the crows that Clarry aint happy and could be gettable.. so we went cold on Redman, saving us a $750k a year spend, and started putting all our focus and energy onto Oliver knowing we may be able to pry him loose..

i love this speculation s**t!

Think on it, we would have gone to that draft with 4, 8, 13, 16 & 19. 100% picks 4 and another of those 1sts would have netted us Luko or Rankine then..it was always about having top 7 picks in that draft to manouvre further into the top 7..port were crafty and showed us it was possible to break in from outside the top 7, but if we had 4, ...my word

It would have been shutdown had there been no truth to it. I agree whole heartedly regarding the likely hood of top 5 mids leaving. What I am saying is this has got to be something thats been workshopped behind the scenes for longer than what we are being told.

Its a monster wage to shove into your salary cap.

Few things make sense based on the Oliver rumour.

• From rumours McAdam didnt want to leave but not being contracted and a convenient approach from Melbourne.
• Crows lowball an offer for Doedee, making him available on the FA list. Cuts half a mill out of our wage bill overnight.
• Redman offered a massive deal to come to Adelaide but decides to stay at Essendon after all, but after we appear to fade away.
• All rumours of Hayward all but disappear.

I haven't been to the melbourne board. what are they saying.

Yeah… i’m pretty sure that the way it went down.. but at the time I thought that might be because we caught wind that he was gonna stay at the dons.. maybe that isnt actually the case..
