2nds 2024 Adelaide Crows SANFL thread

For people writing off Curtin in his 1st season, can you please highlight the other talls from his draft that are holding down best 22 spots across the league?

Maybe he is down on confidence, maybe that knee injury late in pre season has flared up again, or maybe he is a developing tall that will require patience? Whatever it is, the kid will be a jet, just give it more than 16 rounds in his first season before calling time on his career.

I'd eat my hat if it wasn't the knee injury after watching some of that game against Glenelg.

Lad looked like he was struggling to generate any power at all with running.

Interesting mid season pick up by South Adelaide in 20 year old former Geelong Falcons/Vic Country Ruck/forward Olivier Northam, big lad and very very aggressive, gonna be some SANFL players that will know he's around for sure.

I guess after 17 rounds they've realised Curtin might not actually be a KPD despite desperately trying to make him one
Or they drafted a guy with a unique skillset and now want to try him in his other position after a good run down back? The SANFL side have also not played 17 rounds.

I thought this board would be over the moon to hear Curtin playing midfield earlier today by Nicks, but instead we get the pessimistic angle.

None of us are happy with Nicks and the club this year, but at least we are finally seeing the changes we have all hoped for (sure, there are still annoying things like Smith coming straight in, but nothing is perfect). If we are stuck with him for 2025, then seeing changes like this will make it easier to cope.

Thilthorpe at FB
Welsh on the wing
Curtin in the centre

Some good old fashioned mind games from the cagey old fox Godden.
He's toying with the opposition, whoever they are 😜

So a team with Burgess and Borlase back in

F Burgess Murray Gollant
HF McHenry Thilthorpe Welsh
C Haysman Curtin Schoenberg
HB Ryan Borlase Bond
B Boyle Madgen Boyle
R Strachan Edwards Pedlar
I O'Leary Clifford Tahana Davis Sigal Burton Daniiele Whimpress

And it will follow with some praising his development as a necessary step for him to transition to midfield
Like that time we tried Fog as a defender

Hopefully rain stays away and the Ponderosa is a bit better ground for TT and Curtin to show their wares rather than last week's throwback mud heap.

Dogs $1.48 Crows $2.47
They seem very juicy odds for the Crows.
We look to have a strong team on paper
Curtin in the middle, Edwards and Pedlar hopefully starting in the midfield.
They should be looking for a good win today
