I’ve heard the Sam Draper links for a while too, they are genuine, so maybe why we didn’t care about drafting one

I fail to see the connection. It's not either-or. Draper would be for the now, Dodson for the future. They're not mutually exclusive.

Ok was 64 initially and moves either up or down depending on picks used to match and this late in the draft anyone bid on just adds another pick before us (eg pick 49 can be matched by pick 60 or whatever pick a team has leftover)

Not really unheard of but I don't see too many playing a lot of AFL personally, Bice is a 24 year old and Andrew is a 19 year old that went undrafted last year and no MSD interest.
