So do we any list spots or not ?
We have 38 senior spots filled which is the max allowed.

We have 5 rookies now with Eamonn signed. But that appears to be breaking the rules as he would be our 3rd cat b rookie.

I guess that means McLennan was moved from cat b to cat a but I wasn't aware there was a mechanism for that.

Assuming that is the case, we have one cat a rookie spot left, presumably going to Crouch.

Its unbelievable how many posters on here who want to get rid of a bloke who was clearly our best mid in 22/23 in favour of some rookie.

I'm hoping like hell that he gets back on the track for us. His knee may be stuffed and he may not make it but the club would be f***ing stupid not to give him every possible chance.

I'd be happier getting half a dozen games out of Crouch next year ahead of a unknown rookie.

Would you play Crouch and McRae?
Doubt anyone is looking to get rid of him, however, the writing appears to be on the wall regarding his knee, and not sure the point of playing him only 6 games after which he’ll most likely retire at the end of the year.

The unknown rookie won’t be playing this year anyway.

We picked up the Irish bloke this morning, I think that’s still 1 more spot though isn’t it? 6 in the draft, 1 Irish rookie, Crouch moved from the main list to the rookie list.
No, crouch counts as 1 irrespective of list.
Its 44 players max 38 senior listed. The rest are rookies

From the HS article on rookies -

ADRIAN COLE

Key defender, Sandringham Dragons, 194cm
Surprisingly, no club bidded on the lockdown key defender in the national drqaft and the Saints said they “hope he gets a start” in the rookie draft. The Saints can pre-list him as a Category B rookie, and Cole’s camp believe it is unlikely he becomes a St Kilda player. Collingwood and Sydney were among the clubs to show interest in the lead-up to the draft.
Seriously…..it’s bid (past tense).
Journos just can’t journo anymore .

I don’t think anyone who matters gives a rats to be honest. I’m sure how many times we have to go over the same ground, it’s a stupid idea with zero benefit to player or club. Anyone up to task doesn’t need it and we have no claim on them.

a stupid idea or not, we committed to it, you can't then get blokes to do a full season, pour everything into it then completely renege on that deal. if you think thats a great way to operate then you're quicky going to piss people off and suddenly your word as an organisation means very ****ing little.
