Genuine question as I am not in the country. Are these real people...or are you drunk?
Any which way, it sounds as though someone is either taking the piss...or is pissed 🤨 😉

Bo Allan interest confirmed

St Kilda, Richmond, Melbourne the 3 non-WA clubs

Nas was a wing HFF and he wasn’t exactly a prolific ball winner.

But his attributes were on show. Fantastic by foot elusive and creative.

It’s not a hugely different scenario.

We turned Nas into a top 10 HBF in the league
I heard I think Hamish Ogilvie talk about Nas’s poor stats in his draft year.

I was adverse to our pick of him
But during the year I was incredibly impressed with him.

Back to the point. Ogilve stated that ‘poor stats’ especially for wingers is very surface level analysis. When they spoke to the coaches at SANFL and SA they were very impressed with his ability to perform the role that was being asked of him. So it’s not just ‘stats’

Also NAS I think had a very strong level of determination and competitiveness that you wouldn’t necessarily see.

there truthfully aren’t many high production flankers/wingers at underage level which age level.

I can’t recall anyone being a low production mid at underage level who then translated to a gun mid at AFL level.

FOS played high half fwd at VFL level as he hurt himself in the first quarter, smilie didn’t play VFL and smith racked it up as a mid
Bont only had one quality game.

Smil
My point was that this entire top end is flawed.

Don’t give me crap about comparisons. The Wa talent manager likened Allan to Bont and Chad Warner.

It’s all bullshit and they need to get on the park and deliver.

But if you can get excited over Taurus 14 disposals and some nice marking - whilst ignoring he doesn’t have a set position.

The fact Jagga can have the ball on a string and there is a small possibility he slides down to us at 7

Smillie could be Cripps or he could be RCD.

The list goes on. They are all flawed.

As you should know better than anyone else. There isn’t a Harley Reid a Naicos or a Sheezel in this class.

EVERYONE of these kids needs work. Lalor hasn’t don’t a full pre season ever and hasn’t even come close to delivering a strong consistent u17/18 season.

And you despise Murphy Reid for us. Bo Allan is everything he isn’t attribute wise.

None of these kids are sure fire stars.
ie is much better then RCD was. Seriously.

I actually think Smillie has the biggest bust factor in the top 15. Tall mids like this fail more than they succeed and he doesn’t look like he will make it in another role if he isn’t competitive enough or good enough at ground level to be a mid he won’t make it.

Murphy Reid is no sure thing mid at afl level either. Just as likely a half forward/wing.

Bo’s kicking isn’t as bad as some are making out on this thread today. If they have only seen his highlights from the midfield than he looks worse than he is. Looks rushed which isn’t a surprise considering he is learning a new craft in the midfield.

Highlights below are of him in the WAFL playing off halfback.

It’s very unlikely we are picking a “sure thing” mid at our selections so I don’t get why we keep banging on about every prospects weaknesses in our range because they aren’t a proven top end mid. Both prospects we pick will have questions marks, particularly those we hope are mids.

These highlights give me a bit more faith, I also need to see his Champs games to see his footskills and decision making in the under-age comp.

I think those WAFL GF highlights don't paint a true picture - heated contest, pressure football, etc. but he has shown in other games he can kick.

Comes across as very Ed Richards to me. Bulldogs put him on ball this year to inject more speed in the engine room, exactly what we want to do.

Probs have a look at a few vids of him playing in defence, his kicking there is just fine and l suspect its a composure thing of maybe coz hes so quick he can't hit targets at speed.
As another poster said, he's got a unicorn athletic profile so its a question of weather he can be developed.
Yeah agree with you on this .... think when given time & space his kicking is fine but currently under pressure he is a bit of a headless chook

That said I believe in time with more experience he can fix this flaw and improve his skill execution when the heat is on

His speed and athleticism is salivating and he is a one grab good mark and has a great tackle

If he can stack on muscle and grow another few cms he will be a beast

Plenty of great modern mids have had or still have flawed kicks .... Danger / Fyfe / Cripps / Oliver to name a few

Alright, got it worked out.

Keep 7
Trade 8 + 32 for 15, 16 + 21.

Pick 7 - Tauru or Armstrong.
Ideally Tauru falls through but if North grab him then we snipe Armstrong from Melbourne.

Pick 15 - Trainor or Shanahan.
Will depend on who we get at 7. If we have Taurus, pick Shanahan. If we have Armstrong, get Trainor.

Pick 16 - Dodson
Best ruck in the draft. Need to get in front of Richmond to make sure we lock him up.

Pick 21 - Harrison Oliver
We were linked to Houston early so I suspect the club still wants a HBF option.

Boom!

Sets up our spine and gets us the HBF option that we were clearly chasing.

😛

This is a good listen is you haven’t done so already.

Says stkilda or Melbourne will take him top 10.

Says he would be higher up the draft order and in his opinion isn’t top 5 because he will start his career as a third tall down back who plays tall and small and then should develop into a midfielder.

That's an unusual trajectory - how many players have gone done that path?

I like the look of gerreyn and stumpf could be a good late pick.
Gerreyn would be a good fit. I have not found any footage showing him playing back, but would be interesting if he could. Good movement and kicking for his size.

Hope we use that 32, as there will be good prospects there. Gerreyn, Sims, Barratt, Davis, Mraz, O’Farrell, even Moreas who everyone has gone colder on than an Eskimo’s snag. Davidson the Richmond VFLer?

Yea I agree it is a bit weird. I would’ve thought more as a back flanker like Sheezel and Ginbey started their careers rather than a third tall.

So if we pick Allan and say Smillie at best we get two stoppage bulls and at worst we get one stoppage bull and a Battle replacement? As long as we pair Allan with a genuine mid I’d be happy with his selection.

I suspect Allan will quickly become a fan favourite at which ever club he lands at with his strong desire, attitude and leadership qualities.

ModernArtillery doing a great job in the BF Phantom for St.Kilda..

Smillie, Armstrong and Matt Whitlock sliding to Pick 32 currently. Wouldn't be at all mad.
And now chose not to take Lennox Hofmann after Essendons bid and instead draft Kayle Gerreyn!

This is turning into a great KPP Draft, whilst also getting the star, big-bodied clearance mid we wanted.. addressing a lot of issues since our list cuts!

The WA pairing of Gerreyn and Allen would be a nice little motive if we go with Bo in the real thing....

Brings an interesting conundrum.

I'd suggest that all 4 of our current picks we expect to use at the draft and not get swallowed up by NGA bids.

There is a lot of talent still around this late in a draft being undertaken by BF Draft experts...

If this the sort of quality we should see, I would suggest we start expecting not accepting bids on our NGAs before that early 40s pick of ours.

Another hypothetical- I feel like a few will like this one.

Retain 7

Trade 8+F1+32 for 15+16+21

Draft 1 of: Smillie Allan Tauru

Draft 3 of: Lindsay Trainor Reid Whitlock x 2 Shanahan Dodson Travaglia Faull Hannaford etc
if we cant get pick 2 and i dont think we can(why would north do that anyway?tauru huge risk of going before 7)this is my favourite, but unless we are planning to make a huge play for harley reid, with allan collard and and whatever help they need re picks for warner, then i am not rating allan with smillie and tauru,i mean chances are with 2 weeks to go allan will be forgotten anyway as a lindsay or someone else becomes flavour of the week, stick with smillie or one of the other 6,or tauru if he is too much to resist

smillie/tauru
reid
lindsay(if no smillie)/trainor
trainor/dodson

couldnt be happier

Hmm good suggestion on Richards. But bigger!

You better run

The problem with the 7 and F1 for 2 is that the F1 could very well be a 6th to 8th pick. Let’s make up a number and say that weighting that pick vs this year and that’s equal to pick 10 (this notion that there aren’t good players available next year is silly).

What other players would command a pick 7 and pick 10 in a trade? Would be a top 10 player in the comp (ignoring the desperation of Freo and GC this year 🤣🤣).

cup day
us election
st.kilda cc round 4 game day 1
celtics 6-1 will have 3-5 games im sure before draft
fly to thailand monday 11
3 visits to k sauna up on 3rd road pattaya(every 3 days)before draft

i think i will make it
I have all of those except Thailand and the cricket. It’s Melbourne, so the cricket will be rained out. That leaves a beautiful sunny pool side, sauna filled holiday. Pretty even.

As even as some of these Richmond fan trade proposals.

Go Celts
