I very much doubt that will ever happen. Owens just doesn't have it as a midfielder either in positioning or covering an opponent. He trains and plays forward for a reason.

Windhager, Phillipou, are the potential bull inside mids, and probably one or both of the top ten mids will be an inside bull like a Smillie or Allan. Then there is the current inside mids Macrae, Steele and Clark.

I think the injuries are a bit of a cop out. They certainly haven't helped, but they are not the main factor that has limited Clark's career.

I would guess he has bottom 1% in genetics for an AFL listed player. Can't build muscle, is perpetually skinny fat, and his tank and speed are also not there.

His decision making and skill are excellent, but at the end of the day he is coming up against blokes that smoke him athletically.

This makes it hard for him to run out games, and he can't get to 30 possies, which is what you need from a top shelf mid.

Is it fair to put Reid in that category? Doesn't seem like a fair comparison to me. Reid has a good tank and gets a ton of the ball. Looks more Steele Sidebottom than Clark, and I rate Sidebottom highly.
They are not a cop out.

He has been injured at the least opportune time.

He has had serious collision injuries. When he gets a solid stretch of games he is great. The spaghetti arms are a myth. Some players have an innate strength without being jacked. He is one of them.

I like Owens going on ball as a change up but he's really projecting to be a Stringer/Langford type.

Probably a big part in why we were happy for Skunk to go chase success.

The biggest question for me, based on the list currently, is where Hammer is going to play.

If he's set at FF then we probably need to grab a Tauru/Trainor/Traralgon type in the draft on top of Cole.

If the plan is Hammer at FB then we might have another "year of exploration" with the back 6 while drafting more mids to try and prevent it from going in there too often!

On Hugo, I love his tackling but I haven't seen enough of him to even know what sort of player he will become.

Are there any player comparisons people can think of for him as to what his ceiling might be. I thought he was short but 185cm seems a decent enough height for an inside mid.
Essendon don’t have a similar player.

Sorry.

A lot of people have been banging on that we shouldn't, but if available, i dont see why we wouldn't/shouldn't draft both Smillie and Lanford together.
That would be ideal, but I'm afraid someone will spoil the party. If by some miracle they're both available at 7 & 8 I'd grab both of them and run like they were stolen!

The midpoint of Libba and Butters

A win-win agreement between North Melbourne and Richmond for Pick 2 is on the horizon, and there are multiple ways an exchange can come to fruition before the count begins on November 20.“
Kind of depends on if North are set on a particular tall - Melbourne's a real danger to go tall and unfortunately for these deals they have the pick before Richmond's. Pick 2 all but guarantees they get who they want, a slide has risks.

Gee every hypothetical they've thrown up involves pick 6

North have no leverage. They either take Tarau at 2 or they slide back and run the risk of Melbourne snapping him and taking unders for the privilege.

If Richmond and St Kilda are the only two suitors for pick 2, North aren't getting fair value.

I reckon it will end up being 6 and 24 for 2, but if Melbourne take their player at 5 it will be an all time fumble.

24 is the first pick at the start of night 2.

It’s traditionally had offers of future firsts. They won’t be trading that in this trade.
