Jagga would be unreal, would prefer Reid to Travaglia but Travaglia would probably be my 2nd preference out of the remaining players after Reid in that scenario.
We don't require a HBF'er, we require two pure mids.
If Jagga and Reid still.on the board and we still have 7 and 8 and don't take them, there will be much angst.

Travaglia is a very promising looking player, but he’d be a bad selection at #8.

We do not need HBFs. Sincs and Nas will lead us in 2025 and beyond, so I don’t see how Travaglia is getting much game time (which would also be crucial if we want him to play midfield time at some point).

Recruiting TT in my view would basically be 1) injury cover at best / potentially adding an imbalance if we were to play TT Nas and Sincs and 2) also a pretty strong indication we’ve either given up on Hastie after only a year and/or that NWM is going to go back to SA after next year.

What is the obsession with picking someone like TT who could, maybe one day, hopefully, if we ask nicely, turn into a midfielder? Why not just pick a proven underage midfielder??

Cal Twomey in Gettable said it was highly unlikely that Jagga Smith and Finn O'Sullivan would slide to Stkilda
I believe what they said was:

There is a world Sid Draper gets there

There is a world Harvey Langford gets there.

There are worlds Smillie gets there (but likely Richmond at p6)

Murphy Reid is likely to be there

Travaglia in the mix. Harvey Armstrong Tauru also mentioned.

It was an answer to a question on Gettable

Towmey on our picks 7/8

  • FOS / Smith “no I don’t think so, time to move on”
  • Draper / Langford are a slight chance
  • Smillie range starts at Richmond #6
  • mentioned Reid/Travaglia/Armstrong in the mix

I just know , in my heart, we won't get Smilie. Tigers will take him.

If Tauru goes early, maybe Melbourne get sufficiently spooked, and remember they have absolutely no-one to kick it to in their forward line, and take Armstrong .

We might get Langford and Reid

Then we live trade F1, to get back a late teen pick for a KP.

Here is the article link - its not a bad phantom for the Saints!

So aside from Pick 1 its "could go anywhere".

Yes, the players which we want and need are now sliding out to 7 & 8.

In the meantime the brains trust has swapped the picks for multiple selections lower down the draft... because its an even draft.
Who's swapped picks?

The discussion has clearly been about waiting until we see who is still available at pick 8 BEFORE trading down for multiple picks.

If say Smilie & Jagga are still available then I reckon it's safe to say we won't be trading down.

However in the unpalatable situation where all the main midfielders have filled the picks before us then trading down is very much an option.

Because it is an even draft.

Really hope they hold onto Pick 8 until we see who's left on the board.
I'm quite OK with a last minute decision and letting GWS sweat a little.
Do not see the benefit of a pick swap beforehand.

Will be interesting to see where Reid sits in Twomey’s final Phantom Form guide. He’s definitely conceding his projection ranking is higher than the start of his draft range. Does he stay firm on his projection of him being a top 6 player?

Recruiters will be aware of all of that.

Yes, its a big time discussion that we may be diluting our picks.

Phantom drafts are now showing Jagga Smith in line to us for pick 7

Pick 8 may still have a quality mid all over it, not two KPP players in the teens as some are sprouting

If we get two mids on 7-8, then we take it all the way to the bank.
