Rumour is some future thirds

It’s a really weird link if I’m honest.
Maybe they ontrade those thirds to Essendon for 28 or 31? Still weird but I guess if they're even considering it it means that they're almost certainly going to take Tauru at 2 if the deal falls through. Weird for Adelaide tho, as I thought they were as keen on Langford as they were on Draper?

What if they want FOS?

They are not climbing to take Draper. Their number 1 is FOS

Cal Twomey was on SEN this morning.

  • Roos & Adelaide discussing p2 for p4
  • Tauru likely gone before our pick 7
  • Tigers won’t be trading their first few picks. Clubs will need to overpay to land 18/20/23
  • Saints in a good position. Clubs will come hard for pick 8. At this stage he isn’t sure we will trade.
would be great news, means we can totally relax with 2 of any of the 7(inc reid)except lalor and fos,or take only a diamond of an offer for pick 8

im ok with 2 or the 5 mids, will take that and run

but talk to us giants, get me excited, dream scenario for me has been put up before,8 and 32 for 15 16 21,tweak it a bit if necessary from our position of strength

so
7 = top 7 mid
15/16/21 = mid/trainor/dodson
cole hoffman peckett
dfa=perhaps knobel to bridge the gap between roh and dodson & offer some assurance till we know where heath is projecting
butler type for an early look in mid season draft if crouch is a lti,or retired by then

with king signed long term every area of the field has been tended to,start looking for a butler replacement in 2025 with our first round pick still in the bag

Oh really? Wasn't aware of that, I thought they wanted Langford or Draper. Wonder who Carlton take in that scenario? Probs Draper? Interesting, maybe Jagga does slide. Goddam that'd be sick
Only assuming. Could be Jagga.

I’d say it’s likely who Carlton wants and that is apparently FOS

So the draft would look like this if the crows got 2 and north got 4

1 Lalor
2 Fos
3 Jagga
4 Tauru
5 Langford
6 Smillie
7 Draper

Some speed in the midfield … I can’t even imagine.

Wait for us to then go past whoever slides, take everyone’s least favourite at 7, and split 8 🤣🤣

Nothing could be as bad as the phantom posted on Twitter last night from the bloke who calls himself a recruiter and is a Richmond fan.

It bends us over and somehow all the gun players make it to Richmond.

Lalor 1
Jagga 6

Stkilda and Melbourne pass on Smillie who lands at 10

This one is perplexing. Surely even 3 future 3rds (which I believe they have) doesn’t get it done. But Adelaide may get lucky that’s all they have and north have no alternatives
whos got f/s nga next year?brisbane as usual ive heard already, probably others, surely 3 3rds gets them a first rounder from someone next year

That was so embarrassment.

He had Smilie falling to the Tigers at 13.

Lol.

We look almost certain to take Hoffman later in the draft, so that will give us four HBF'ers that are all explosive off the mark and are excellent kicks (Sinclair, NWM, Hastie and Hoffman). Whilst Travaglia runs hard and has an attacking game-style, he is very slow off the mark for his size and only an average kick. He would be behind those other four, and a waste at that pick for us. (He would be of more value to a team looking for more HB's so he will still get picked fairly early.)

It does seem strange that we keep getting linked to him.

Probably Stkilda are linked because GWS wants Travaglia and makes 8 for 15/16 a more juicy proposition

No team will take Travaglia as a half back

Whoever takes him will take him with the belief that he will be a midfielder at AFL level

Yes please. Draper would be my pick if we had Pick 1. I just think he comes in, has an instant impact, and is exactly what our midfield needs. Add an Allan or Reid @ 8, or a Lindsay/Trainor Combo at 15/16 and I'd be in heaven

I love this categorisation of mids but am too lazy to think about our current mids in these three terms, does someone want to have a go?

Watch the video and sort the following players into one or more of the categories: STRIKE, ENGINE, DISRUPTOR.

(comments about not being as good as the best aren't necessary for this instance)

Windy
Jones
Garcia
Steele
Clark
Byrnes
Stocker
Dow
Wilson
Henry
Phillipou
Macrae
Sincs
Hall

How ever you frame it one lot wins first use and dishes off. Grunt extractor types. Libba is an example.
One lot wins the ball by hitting the ball moving and works through traffic with momentum. Think Stuv types.
One lot is the first receiver inside the action that moves the ball out to the outside runners or kicks directly inside 50. Seb Ross for example.

Then you have guys that have variations like taggers, defensive minded inside ball winers, some are outside runners who can win ball inside when needed etc.

Windy inside outside type probably ideally the Seb Ross first receiver type who is inside but not a pure extractor. Spreads well and moves well.
Jones the ballistic hit it moving type.
Garcia is probably a combo of ballistic and extractor.
Steele a defensive minded first use extractor or two-way mid.
Clark is an inside extractor with the ability to dish by hand well.
Byrnes plays more of an outside game but was drafted as a Stuv type of ballistic mid.
Stocker an inside extractor but his lack of spread makes him more suited to HB.
Dow is a combo of extractor and ballistic.
Wilson more pure wingman or at a pinch inside/outside mid.
Henry is a high HF who can pinch hit as a first receiver or a ballistic mid.
Phillipou is probably like Bont type extractor who has movement as well but not really a ballistic type.
Macrae is an extractor who dishes off ideally but can move through traffic quite well.
Sincs is a combo of extractor and ballistic mid.
Hall is probably a HF mid combo. Haven't seen enough to make solid call on him.
