Sandy players who nominated for the draft:

Tom Blamires
Will Brown
Josh Docking
Hugo Hall-Kahan
Darby Hipwell
Ollie Lowe
Tarkyn O'Leary
Mitch Ryan
Luke Ryan
Will Vesely
Blake Watson

So I guess we'll be taking one of them?
Ollie Lowe
We might need talls depth in Brown & Vesely, but doubt they did enough to impress.

Surely we are not going to follow through on this there is no one worthy of a spot and the exact opposite of what was intended is happening with what sounds like a mass walkout

Remind me never to make a handshake agreement with you.

If stoppage craft was easy to develop we’d have made gun mids out of many an athlete the last few years and wouldn’t be in the crisis we are.

Pou had a number of games that demonstrated his ability as a midfielder when he was underage. Something that Allan has not. He’s a very exciting prospect, but he’s not on the level that Murphy Reid, or the other midfielders are at YET. Could he get there? Of course. However law of averages say that the back flanker athlete doesn’t translate to the gun mid.
Agree.. lots of people thinks young players can develop midfield nous/craft, clean hands, composure like picking up groceries from a supermarket shelf, it hardly happens therefore these are always high risk gambles if you want to draft a HF or HF

Surely we need to see who comes in before calling them a joke.

They've been called poor quality VFL players on this board for months so maybe losing them isn't a big issue.

You’re probably right, however if we’re serious about this scheme we should not be considering any player who has already signalled an intention to play elsewhere in the VFL in 2025.

If Hipwell is going to Frankston, and Hall-Kayan is going to Willy then stuff them. Just pick someone else.

Completely agree. Maybe they've been told they arent getting it and thats been a factor in them going to a standalone club.

How ever you frame it one lot wins first use and dishes off. Grunt extractor types. Libba is an example.
One lot wins the ball by hitting the ball moving and works through traffic with momentum. Think Stuv types.
One lot is the first receiver inside the action that moves the ball out to the outside runners or kicks directly inside 50. Seb Ross for example.

Then you have guys that have variations like taggers, defensive minded inside ball winers, some are outside runners who can win ball inside when needed etc.

Windy inside outside type probably ideally the Seb Ross first receiver type who is inside but not a pure extractor. Spreads well and moves well.
Jones the ballistic hit it moving type.
Garcia is probably a combo of ballistic and extractor.
Steele a defensive minded first use extractor or two-way mid.
Clark is an inside extractor with the ability to dish by hand well.
Byrnes plays more of an outside game but was drafted as a Stuv type of ballistic mid.
Stocker an inside extractor but his lack of spread makes him more suited to HB.
Dow is a combo of extractor and ballistic.
Wilson more pure wingman or at a pinch inside/outside mid.
Henry is a high HF who can pinch hit as a first receiver or a ballistic mid.
Phillipou is probably like Bont type extractor who has movement as well but not really a ballistic type.
Macrae is an extractor who dishes off ideally but can move through traffic quite well.
Sincs is a combo of extractor and ballistic mid.
Hall is probably a HF mid combo. Haven't seen enough to make solid call on him.
Ffs gringo.

Three easy categories. Each one designated one memorable word.

All in the bin for this word salad?

Lol

Are we seriously in the frame for this player?

Nice size at 190cm
Moves very well
These are highlights but his disposal seems very neat
Very instinctive in close with good evasion skills
Can never have enough left footers
Great leap, I remember that last mark in the Champs game, was peak Stringer
I like him much more than Bo Allan.

It's not out of the realms of possibility. If Tauru goes before our pick then someone has to slip through whether it's him, Draper, Smillie or Jagga.

Hope so, but would be shocked if he gets to us
Tigers will take him with pick 1 or 6
