Twomey was as recent as last week saying we are shopping our F1 to get back in.

As far as I’m aware. The clubs isn’t concerned about using their F1 this year.

They believe that:

We will get another First rounder next trade period

Or

Land a free agent equivalent.

I say go for it.
We can sort something out next year.

" For someone who can compete in all three areas of the ground and possesses the traits Tauru has, and given the level of interest across the board from nearly every club, he will be in high demand.

However, with the top end talent of this draft being dominated by pure midfielders it could be possible he could either end up in the top [emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]] or fall just outside it.

While the scary thing is that he hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential yet, the fact is there is no position set for him due to his versatility and ultimately the club that selects him will be doing so based on where he fits into their side and where they see him contributing in two to five seasons time.

Come draft night, though, it will be a matter of how far he slips."

If Tauru is there when it is our turn to pick, then we should pick him. He looks to be an amazing talent.

But it would mean North has overlooked him and presumably drafted another mid.

That would be a surprise. Then again North’s list management has been woeful.

These dumbarse draft pundits thinking we are gunna take Armstrong

I don’t think Melbourne will take Armstrong but i don’t think we will either.
I think we should take Tauru if he’s there, if he’s not it means one of Langford, Smillie, Smith, Draper should be available. We take whoever it is at pick 7. It’s pretty simple and largely out of our hands.
No idea about pick 8 though.

I agree. Take best mid at 7. And if Tauru is still available and we haven't traded 8, take Tauru. Love to see big nose Rawlings have a sook.

I hate the position of 8 in this draft specifically for us and our needs.

For someone like GWS to get whoever you want though. That would be a big plus.
8 is the power play of the draft.
It allows us to dictate around us.

Melb are balls deep into Armstrong at pick 9. But tigers are super keen to get him with pick 10. So what do you think Tigers will do?
If they really want Armstrong, then they will have to cough up 10 & 11.
GWS are real keen on Travaglia. WC and Freo are also keen on Travglia. Who’s to say we wont do another pick swap with GWS trading 10 for 15 & 16.

That would give us 7, 11, 15, 16.

Melb will take Langford. They need a big body mid and a big body forward.
They want Armstrong at 9.

“Saints are having further player interviews and home visits with a number of 10-20 range - Xavier Lindsay another they like”

“Richmond have another home visit with Smillie planned”

“Essendon trying really hard to trade back in”

“Saints are getting a lot of offers for 8”
If this is the case, we could see Smith slide to 7!

1 Tigers - Lalor / FOS
2 North - Taru / FOS / Lalor
3 Carlton - FOS / Draper / Smith / Lalor
4 Crows - Draper / Lalor / Smith / Langford
5 Melb - Langford / Smith / Reid / Lalor
6 Richmond - Smille
7 Saints - Smith / Langford / Reid

** the first name mentioned is my best guess:

I love it, we wouldn’t have gotten pick 6 if we had 5 is the word from a VERY knowledgeable mate of mine inside AFL HQ.

8 creates so many opportunities it’s not funny, in an incredibly good draft. Let’s make hay.
