Its a different scenario at 7 & 8 than it was with NWM draft at pick 11.

If what Twomey suggests eventuates, it will be an absolute flipping disaster in my view! The club would have completely out smarted itself alsmost akin to Norths Launceton win when they missed out on Harley Reid. Not one midfielder in the top 8 picks is nothing short of a shocking result for a club with the worst midfield in the competition.
But we have Dow and Carroll what more do you want.
Can live with Tauru but really a winger/ mid in Travaglia would not be good especially if Allan is still there.
Still think Tauru goes before our pick. If that's the case we should select Allan at 7 and see who bites at 8 for Tauru.

I’m don’t understand what North’s end game is if they draft FOS.

It’s been widely reported that they are desperate for Tauru and they don’t want to slide too far back in case they miss him. Yet if they stay at pick 2 (according to Twomey) they draft FOS.

Why? They’ve had a squillion early picks and all they ever draft with them is mids. Their list is so unbalanced that they will take ages to improve.

Anyway, time will tell. Twomey’s phantom is not a great result for us but we can only draft who is there and available.

Maybe this is the year he has misjudged the order. But I’m happy with Tauru and happy if we split pick 8 and shuffle back. There’s still plenty of talent beyond the top 10.

Mildly interesting how Twomey has us taking Travaglia before the Viking.

On the upside, if we do take both then we have seriously added to our blonde men depth.

However, no doubt there will be many misspellings of Travaglia and Tauru which will inevitably go down well with some on here.

On a more seriously positive note, Tobie definitely fits into our side as a running team, and though he isn’t super exciting on paper, he has continuously been praised since draft coverage started.

And Tauru could be literally anything, he’s the bolter of the top 10. We obviously need gun mids, but we have been forced to take best available the last 3 years and they have turned out pretty darn. well (Nasiah, Phillipou, Wilson)

Lastly, Trainor sliding to 28 is pretty wilddddd, must be some truth to those concussion rumours which were being dispelled.

If we miss out on a mid in the same week we bin our logo, I might be at a level of melt that sees me call into a talk back show, something I haven't done since I called Derryn Hinch out for rooting 14 year olds in the height of the St Kilda Schoolgirl saga.

omfg the we should have lost vs carlton posts are killing me fml, like ross could have just put the controller down in the last 5 minutes and let carlton finish the job
I hate Kemp more than Higgins. Wish we had have traded him so he could have become our whipping boy.

I picked this a week ago when everyone was saying a mid would slide.

I’d now almost be inclined to take the best 2 key position players in the draft pool.

If there’s no top rung mids left to choose, Atleast set our backline up for the next decade with genuine star prospects.

I know they are the wrong picks as far as we are all concerned as we all want mids, but carrying on like Tauru and Travaglia are automatic busts is a bit much.

Still if we select these two it will be more disappointing than the ladt time we had 7 and 8.

What happens if GWS says no?

If Richmond or GWS don’t want move up then there is not much we can do.

I’d be surprised if neither is interested but it’s possible. The way Misson was talking left me with the impression that a pick split was an option. Maybe he was just talking it up.

Swans seem to be too far back and they are the only other club with multiple picks.
