Every club using Harry Hindsight intelligence would say they are guilty. Some more than others. I expect we would be guilty as charged and so would every club.Might’ve been a terrible draft but we had a free hit at one of the best out of it and chose to overlook him for some inexplicable reason
Also we got Grundy for junk picks, the trade would’ve proceeded regardless, we just would’ve used other junkier picks
I thought I heard through the grape vine that Weddle was playing the Archie Perkins card with non-Victorian clubs. Not much you can do if a bloke spells it out that he doesn’t want to go there.
I come back on here and read a few posts.. people are still criticising the Swans drafting. Sh*ts me to tears! We flubbed that draft. Pure and simple. No need to keep excusing the club for it.

It may be a good time to remind all the Swans 'supporters'? that over the last few years, I have heard countless times (and from the AFL / Vic media!) that The Swans have the best young list in the comp
Our drafting cant be too bad? especially considering we generally have lesser picks - because our drafted players keep taking us to finals, or is that Horses fault?
You do not want me talking about a few of them on a YouTube lol
Amazing that we would be using approximately the same number of picks as we have spare list spots. Who tipped you off?Been telling you that for weeks
most of the drafting is decided after the draft when the 'kids' get developed.A lot of drafting is decided for us when it's Academy picks
Nope. Not too deeply. Lots have said we mucked up not picking Serong. They might be right but then again with what was in front of him he might have stagnated and not developed at all. A lot of this stuff is down to circumstances. We also seem to go in waves (planned or unplanned????)
We have a few years of successful draftees then a few without. Maybe this comes down to the development opportunities available? eg.. I reckon JMac and Rowbottom were drafted at a good time, but prob would've struggled to get a game if drafted in 2021/22
2023 - looks like a good draft (we'll see in a few years)
2024 - Academy tall defender + 3 decent picks (not good picks, but decent)
2025 - Academy looks promising.. and our draft hand might improve with young guys leaving eg Warner, Sheldrick.. who knows?
but to develop those three years together could go a long way
Maybe Im thinking too deeply about it?
You'll see me in the comments section asking about Hynes 100%
Yeah, I mean I'm allowed to criticise particular drafting. Just like I was happy with the Green and Snell selections last year, and while I was after talls at the time, I can't fault the Roberts and Sheldrick selections a year prior to the 2022 draft I was referring to.I come back on here and read a few posts.. people are still criticising the Swans drafting. Felt the stuff up was picking Stephens more than not picking Serong. A skinny framed flanker type who was rank 40, in no one’s Top 10 or even 20, we pick at 5.Nop

No one could have known for sure Serong would be the gun he was. But Stephens being a gun was a 50/1 shot at best.
What i said was that KB interviewed a kid from my club and told him we will only use 3 picks and at best 4 . I can go back a few weeks and find it if you like . Anymore info im happy to provide , always good to talk with youAmazing that we would be using approximately the same number of picks as we have spare list spots. Who tipped you off?

Was talking to Harry Armstrongs mum last night , she said he would love to come to us , highly unlikely , but will go anywhere in Aus , just dreading being picked up by St Scum !
Richmond won't have 6 on draft night imo but he won't get past the 10/11 (pre-bid) section that will have Richmond and North in it.Richmond take him at 6 imo and that’s if Melbourne don’t at 5. Richmond could still get a very good mid at 10 (becomes 11 after the Ashcroft bid).

I have Richmond giving up 6 & 11 for North's 2. So the talls start coming off the board around Saints, Melbourne Richmond and North's second picks of the night
We'd love to have him but I too fear very unlikely. Was talking to Harry Armstrongs mum last night , she said he would love to come to us , highly unlikely , but will go anywhere in Aus , just dreading being picked up by St Scum !
Stephens was in most Top 10s. Was mentioned at 5 or 6 as potential picks in some.Felt the stuff up was picking Stephens more than not picking Serong. A skinny framed flanker type who was rank 40, in no one’s Top 10 or even 20, we pick at 5.
