So if Richmond go Lalor or Smith at 1, North may go Smith or Lalor at 2 and Carlton FOS at 3 and Draper is there for us
And Hamish calls out Tyler Welsh

If Houston doesn’t go through can Port afford Lukoscious salary (especially with Soldo still there)?

We should get in Gold Coast ear - have them trade pick 13 to North for F1, and then have another crack at Lukoscious for our F1.

They can trade their pick in the 20s for Noble if they really want and leaves Port holding the bag.

Does Collingwood actually need Houston with Perryman coming in?

Bryan Cranston Mic Drop GIF
It is seriously that and not an added future first?

Yes .. they can afford it, they were still planning to bring Perryman in

The problem seems to be the appearance of what Richmond are getting for Rioli, though no one knows how much or little of Rioli's salary Richmond are paying in order to be be offered the premium in draft picks

lol .. thought this might happen last night

I wonder if Houston's manager pulls a Colin Young today, if he really wants to get to Collingwood and back to Melbourne

Interesting that Houston still hasn't publicly nominated Collingwood as his preferred destination
Says to me that it’s been a mutual parting from port, if it was just port pushing him out he’d have rights to nominate and if it was him wanting out north would be in with a shot.

I don't think it has anything to do with right's

Houston going to Collingwood reunites him with his gf and and extra $150-200K per year. People seem to have overlooked that Port have always had the option to renegotiate his contract if they really value him. He signed his last contract before breaking out and earning his first AA

This touchy feely we love Dan and would be happy for him to stay is a facade

I think Houston has been decent in not specifically nominating a club so Port retain some leverage. Sure he's still contracted, but that has rarely stopped a trade like this in the past

Pretty clear Houston has no interest in going to North, and who could blame him. North have apparently offered more money

that’s where it’s been mutual, port happy to get back into the draft, Dan happy to go home and get paid more.

If that’s why they’ve split to facilitate getting Baker then they are ****heads. Passing up a gun for a decent player who won’t be around for their premiership push
Yeah, take gun midfielder at #3 & use pick 26 or future 26 for Baker.

It's insane giving up a quality pick for Baker.

Allows them now to load up on future picks from Hawthorn and stock pile them for Warner next year.
