Yep agreed. They are still missing the gorilla or “Beast” like forward though to crash packs like TT and Dixon (at his best)

Luko, Mitch G, Marshall all similar leading type players. Ditto Finlayson. None of these guys are hard players. Compare them to Fog, TT and Tex. Chalk vs cheese. I wouldn’t be relying on too many contested marks from that lot. Lord is the one they really need to come good but was apparently dud like in he SANFL this year so not looking good for them so think they still have massive holes both in KPD (esp with AA over 30, BZT “brittle” at best and Ratugloea basically barely up to it. And no dominant tall forward.)

Years of pain coming up for them. I truly believe this and haven’t made this call before but they will miss finals in 2025 and then for many years to come after that. Hinkley sacked mid next year and then they will lose Bergman and Butters also (2025 / 2026). Out of flag and even finals contention now permanently for the foreseeable future (next 5 years)
Lord is the one for that to crash some packs and just compete

Not sure re years of pain given they’re young , very important draft though

we can always hope haha

Yes Lord is important

I just dont see the quality across the board on their list. They have just lost their 3rd best player and Butters probably gone within 2 years. Dud KPP both front (Mitch G an exception. Luko jury out) and back especially. And flankers arent good - Boak should retire. DBJ has gone from adequate to much below that, ditto Burton, too many soft players across the board inc small forwards (Riolio OK but also 30 next year). And then another 10 ish players that have hardly played or not up to it and/or want out (Clurey, Soldo) who they cant get rid of

List is actually in a pretty poor state going forward. I will stand by these predictions and expect us to finish ABOVE Power for the rest of this decade (winning 7 or 8 out of 10 showdowns) and they wont make finals again for 5 years

Richmond would be absolutely pissing themselves laughing this trade period

‘How fun and easy is rebuilding ‘

It's a shame we didn't take in the same philosophy when we had a 25 year old contracted Rory Laird (same age as Shai Bolton) and a 27 year old contracted Brodie Smith (same age as Dan Rioli) right there to offload at the end of 2019

AFL: We're putting a pause on trading until 2pm on Wednesday, so no details of trades and everyone will be paying attention to deadline day in primetime

Media: We'll report on all the trades before then anyway so nothing is kept secret and it's business as usual

Of course he could casually let it slip his GF will be locating to Adelaide and he plans to be with her so will need to be travelling there weekly to see her but if that is a problem, maybe tbose 3 clubs might decide to pass on picking him😉
Clubs definitely won’t pick up players who don’t want to come to your club as you will piss them and their agencies off they may ask but peatling has made it clear he wants move to SA

No, PSD is correct.

Given the picks we have left, there is no chance that Peatling would still be available by the time we wanted to select him if he nominated for the ND. There's not a snowball's chance in He'll that he doesn't get picked up before pick 64.

The option being discussed is getting Peatling to delist himself from GWS, and nominate for the PSD (bypassing the ND). Adelaide have pick 4 in the PSD, and would only need to worry about being gazumped by Norf, Richmond, and West Coast. Even so, that's still a significant risk.

I get all that.

It’s the way it’s written.

“Willing to use pick 4 on him in the psd”

Makes it sound like pick 4 in the psd is a big deal.
