I don't, and they very well could be. We haven't been well run for over 20 years.

Maybe their delistings were communicated poorly or there was stuff behind the scenes for all we know, but at the end of the day, neither were AFL quality and it was always going to be a stretch for either of them to make it.
See Mutineer look at this reply, wasn’t that hard was it?

lol, you guys have been talking about it, I comment and pose some questions that actually might require you to be critical of the club with your answers and it’s “just let it go”
Yeah, but I’m not sure there’s a genuine justification to play devil’s advocate on this one

So GWS are out. When will rumour start circulating about Cumming do we think? He’s a FA so technically won’t request a trade to a club
I think he and Perryman, if they’re out, say they want to move this week. They mightn’t mention a specific club yet, though (especially Port-bound Perryman)

That said, Battle nominated the Hawks while they were still going, so who knows

They will nominate because they areboth UFA

One to port, one to adel

luko is way more complicated as we all know

Of course there is, how the parents viewed the development and coaches from within the club will have helped formed their opinion of the club and given how shit we’ve been it’s not a stretch is it?
Darren and Tyson can feel how they want, but I think it’s pretty safe to say the club was proven right in this case

Unless we’re talking generally (besides their own sons), and I highly doubt they were that tapped in to every player’s experience

Every players experience doesn’t matter, it’s how they saw how their sons were developed and communicated to, couple that with what they see as a club and it’s understandable why they wouldn’t be recommending us

Not at all. I've posted accurately what's been told to me and by who. The last I posted on the matter was early in the season, long before Jack seemed to fall out of favour with the coach. I did happen to mention at the time (on here or on my podcast) that it took a while for Jack to warm to Hardwicks mantras and style, but at the time of my convo, that seemed to have sorted itself out.

At that tme, the question was "would Jack come home and if so, would he come to Adelaide?" Things have shifted substantially since then and Jack doesn't have as much control over the situation as he probably felt he had back then. Bear in mind, back then the answer was a firm "he loves it up there and won't come back, but if he did, it wouldn't be to Adelaide". I imagine now the situation is more complicated.

If he ends up with us, it will be because he wants to play AFL footy and we were the ones who could get that deal done. Doesn't change a thing in regards to what my info was earlier in the season and last season.
Sorry if I’ve missed it but did you know why he wouldn’t come to us (back then).
Aren’t they crows fans?

What don't you get, they're parents so they find it hard to accept that their kids aren't up to it, the club was damned from the get go either way in their parents eyes.

To not take them even as rookies and upset the parents, give them an opportunity no other club was willing to do and then when neither were obvious to everyone up to it delist them and still upset the parents?

Nah you've picked the wrong hill to die on here.

So you’re assuming that we didn’t try all avenues possible to give them the chance to be AFL players? Particularly in Jarman’s case, who had two years?

It’d be fair enough if they went on to be better players elsewhere, but they didn’t

So I see you haven’t let it go but have bypassed actually answering the questions I posed of you.

Exactly, I’m sure every parent who has a kid delisted after two years feels like this

The emotion is louder in this case because they’re club legends

I’m assuming nothing, I’m posing questions that may have led to them being pissed at the club and given our recent history it’s not a stretch.

I wonder if we've tried to patch things up with the dads since.

We do seem to have quite a few former players who don't like the club anymore.

100% agree and good to see FullyBigKPro change his clown-like reponse to me saying the same thing

Fair go mate - I was simply making a point in jest that what we REALLY need is a gun elite mid. Fully aware there are none currently in the market, I'm not an idiot.

We are talking about utility types in ANB, Cumming, Luko etc which are all 'nice' players but not the absolute need we crave.

Seems a lot players wait for the completion of their exit interviews, with the club announcing that "joe bloggs" is going to explore his free agency

If we’re talking about players who went on to be better elsewhere it’s not a stretch (see: Lyons, Cameron), and it wouldn’t be a stretch even in cases like Schoenberg and Jones, where the club was not able to capitalise on talented U18 performers

But fringe players who had a slim chance on making it in the first place and have not developed since leaving? Nah

Yeah this isn’t great. I was hoping hiring Sauce would help with re-develop the relations with some of the older players (clearly seemed invested in his role), but obviously he’s at WWT now

McLeod is the one that really hurts

Again whether they are fringe players or not is irrelevant, we know we’ve been a poor development club and they lived that, they saw if first hand. Isn’t it then understandable they wouldn’t recommend the club?

Anyway I’ll move on
