I remember the majority talking it up as being a very strong draft.

And they are still saying it.

I'm talking about recruiters and draft experts by the way, not bigfooty people.
It’s interesting because we’re now in this super draft frenzy while some teams are throwing away futures. There’s so much noise around the draft these days with the media coverage it’s hard to cut through the rubbish and clubs don’t often give much away. We were always going back to the draft this year that much I know so it’s no surprise if we’re trying to load up.

Obviously other teams are at various points in the cycle, north for example are trying to pick the eyes out of it now not load up. Then there’s the teams with academy production lines who are always looking at future points. Thursday will tell the tale, who’s holding what this year and next.

The irony of a 535 page thread for a Trade period where we quite conceivably make one (Macrae) or even no trades in would be glorious lol
What happened to the 400 page limit?

Losing that F1 makes me very uncomfortable. Look at how much trouble Collingwood are having with Houston without a first rounder & the price teams are paying to trade back in. We say we'll just use futures for Callaghan, but 2027 futures are compromised by Tassie and clubs (e.g. Port) want picks now not later.

This is essentially saying (for example's sake) Lindsay + F1 for Smith. Or Travaglia + F1 for Draper, or whatever example you want to use. Is the gap clearly that big? To FOS/Lalor maybe yes but every chance they go 1/2

If Lalor and FOS are gone, that still leaves Smith and Draper, so you tell Adelaide you'll pick Draper unless they switch their 4th pick plus a future first with your 3rd, if they refuse you pick Draper. If they take it you take Smith. Get Smilie with 7.

Gringo is not everyone.

Whats been said here for a long time appears to be spot on.

There isn’t a Harley Reid. But there looks like there is plenty of George Wardlaw/Mckercher/Pou/Nas level talents.
It wasn’t just gringo or just on here Stavro. Anyway let’s see how it all finishes up, all I’m interested in is st Kilda getting what we need. If we’re helping to facilitate deals the deals can’t compromise our plans and need to be weighted in our favour otherwise just sit on what we have.

Sounds like we keep striking out.

Glass half full attitude is tell me other clubs thinks our future first mightn’t be that valuable as a team on the rise 🤷🏼‍♂️
I'd say it was just the fact that those clubs had players involved that they all wanted to move so it was a much better fit to trade with them.

That's why Edmunds felt Collingwood were in the box seat despite us having a better offer pick wise

In the minority here but if we are going to trade picks, I'd rather use 8 and something to get GWS's picks in the teens instead of using multiple picks to move up to 3.

If this draft and Draymple are as good as advertised, there should be some excellent players available at the end of night 1 to get a really strong draft group.

I genuinely was taking the piss but fmd that might be the floggiest video I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂

Mind you I remember to be young and raring myself but even in my heyday I would have a bit more shame than that and I used to close Seven and Pony regularly.

Far king hell lmfao.
Absolute cringe fest.
