The last few pages have been pure garbage.

People dismissive of the India cricket team in Australia like its the 90's all over again.
Completely agree. God damn there are some absolute spuds in here. India, are a good team, the weather has been bad, really bad, and we are a bowler down, and still, even still, we may win.

Yep.

It was stupidly pointed out as if batting has an impact on fielding. What he did with the bat does not change the impact of his dropped catch.

Surgeons don't excuse sewing a patient up with the organs in the wrong spot just because yesterday they saved a guy.

Of course not but the situation his dropped catch impacted probably doesn’t happen if it wasn’t for his inning so he can probably get let out on bail for that one

Almost like the 2 things aren’t remotely similar

No you said this was entirely on Smith which is stupid, his batting had an impact on the game.

Putting us not winning entirely on him is incredibly stupid.

As reprehensible as their batting has been, and yes fully acknowledging the fact that one of their keys today should have been our first ball:

Wickets 5-9 put on 200 under extreme pressure in a huge situation in the context of the series.

It definitely didn’t hurt them that Australia’s best pressure builder was out of action.

They showed a fair bit more today than at most points of the series to date.

Some Australians just hate this Aussie team for some reason.

We have had very little go our way this test. Lost the toss and sent in, weather has been a thorn in our side, one of our front line bowlers going down injured and despite that we are still on track to lead by well over 150 at the end of the first innings yet people are still calling to dump our captain, sack our selectors, drop multiple players.

We are good weather away from a 2-1 lead against the best or 2nd best team in the world. Things could be better but damn they are not as bad as some one us to think.

Except he's better in the third and fourth innings than he is in the first two.

If anything, this just proves AH's point. This is about what you'd expect (a much lower average in a 4th innings compared to a 1st innings) given that the global innings batting average for a 1st is over 31-32, and for a 4th innings is about 27.

Doesn’t really prove it it just shows that he does his job in fourth innings.

Stuart MacGill’s average for his career was a shade under 30.

It went up to 34 in the fourth innings.

Warnie was perhaps the greatest spinner of all and his fourth innings average is only 4 points lower than Lyon’s, and only 2 points lower than his overall average. Lyon’s drops 3 points lower in the fourth innings.

Phat, please don’t let facts and stats get in the way of a good rant, surely you know better

I don't think you know what you are trying to say, so stop trying to put words in my mouth when the words come out of your own mouth like this hot mess.
My bad for not proof reading big footy posts, really is not that hard to comprehend. You choose to comment on that though instead of actually replying because you know what you said originally was stupid and that is why you choose to not elaborate on it if i got it so wrong.

Full credit to India, great fightback to avoid the follow on and keep the series alive and cracking.

Few frustrations on our part (dropped catch, injury to Hazelwood, coming so close to bowling them out) but we're in a tough fight and India have shown a lot of grit to probably save this match.

Can people not understand that Marsh is not picked as an all-rounder. Just because he used to be an all-rounder that doesn’t automatically mean he has to bowl now.

I see no one calling for Khawaja to bowl? He has contributed less with the bat over recent periods. Don’t have the most recent figures, but I believe it was either pre-series or post first test that Marsh had the highest average of all our top 6 since the WTC final. He doesn’t get dropped if he can’t bowl, in the same way the rest of the top five get dropped if they can’t bowl. He would get dropped on his batting. And while subpar in recent matches, his recent record probably has him over Khawaja, McSweeney and probably Labuschagne. Ahead of Smith before the ton too.

So if you really need or want an all-rounder, you drop your worst batter, not just a bloke who is now a batter who can chuck down the odd over, because you have mentally compartmentalised that he is an all-rounder and you can’t adapt and accept him being a batter now.

Bison is picked as a specialist fielder. In horrible batting form.

Don’t get why ppl say it will definitely be a draw, if we bat 60 overs and make 240 ontop of the est 180 and allow 100 overs to bowl with a 420 target, we were going to bat again no matter what, they were going to bowl again straight away with the injury

Yes good fightback late but they've dodged a bullet this Test

Terrible decision to put Australia into bat and saved from likely defeat by rain

Can we stop playing cricket in wet shitholes like Brisbane and Sydney and Melbourne?

Just keep it to the two driest capital cities in the country, Adelaide and Hobart.
How often does Melbourne get rained out?
It certainly doesn't rain for 5 days straight in the last week of December.

Its CA's fault for insisting on scheduling matches when it doesn't suit the weather of the host cities.
