In the context of the series, total is the most pivotal and critical day.

i think we lost 4 overs on day 1Play has been extended yesterday and today as far as I’m aware.
Border-Gavaskar is inconsequential. Only this matters.
Avoid losing here or in Sydney then beat SL away and the spot is ours.
We're ahead of India atm who don't play anymore tests after Sydney. Staying ahead then doing the business in SL is all that matters.
We simply must not lose. First priority. If we can win then bonus.
I recall that Jim Maxwell had some form of medical incident (stroke?) which may have led to him being less inhibited in what he chooses to say. What is worse is how demeaning it is for any commentator to spout the drivel and say it so positively. How much do they get paid for spouting the stuff? Would I buy a funeral service because Whateley sprouted it, no (I’m getting cremated anyway)
So veteran TV and radio sports host Ian Maurice and Sri Lankan cricket journalist Daniel Alexander must be some of the exceptions you had in mind when you said 'most' instead of 'all'.
Yeah they’re just very enthusiastic. They celebrate wickets like a goal in a soccer World Cup final, it’s just very different to us. Same as how the English wear shirts and ties while we wear thongs and singlets to the cricket just a different supporting culture. They are very intense, but a lot of it is cultural differences between our countries.
They would have found Konstas batting against Bumrah like that as being disrespectful to their champion player .
Cummins gets belted and we react with that's just good batting or we go at Cummins to bowl better, probably the latter.
They pretty much view their players as gods and quite frankly a few of their players act like it .
I insulted one of my teamates when I suggested that Tendulkar was slowing up and should retire. He didn't talk to me for weeks and it took one of the other sub continent guys to play peacemaker . I literally had no idea what he was mad about . Made batting with him tough work .
But that's what it's like, it's 1000% up on our most fanatical cricket supporters imo.
Talk about revisionism. The ICC changed the laws regarding straightening of the arm purely to accommodate Murali. It was at a time when sun-continental political power was growing and all of a sudden there was a Sri Lankan who was super marketable and a pin up for fans there. There was a committee formed to review the situation and they recommended changing the rules allowing greater flexion of the elbow. Pure politics that he was allowed to continue. Michael Holding I recall was on that committee and resigned in protest. Murali was an out and out chucker who was accommodated by cricket politics at the expense of the laws of the game.Laws of Cricket says he throws it......BUT.....I.C.C playing conditions allow for a certain amount of learway for degrees in terms of arm straightening. This provision was implemented when the issues for Murali cropped up.
As a former umpire....there's nothing the umpires can do. They'd be told not to no-ball any bowler for chucking. We already saw what happened with Darryl Hair in 1995 and Ross Emerson in 1999. Opened a can of worms.
Anyway it is what it is. When I umpired we were instructed not to no ball any bowler for chucking and simply report it in the umpires match report and the competition/association would take it from there.
That may be so, but 2 days at least have had extended play. Slow over rates are a problem, not the allocated time. There will be more than enough extra time to make up for the rain delay.i think we lost 4 overs on day 1
6 on day 2
and 20 day 3
and 3 on day 4
the over-rates are still very slow
Yes we doIt’s either gonna be a draw or India win. I don’t think we have the ability to bowl them out on this deck
If Starc is all good...we have a good chance of bowling them out
It’s either gonna be a draw or India win. I don’t think we have the ability to bowl them out on this deck
I listened to the ABC the other day, he sounded okay to me.It's time for Jim Maxwell to hang up the microphone.
We know what we'll get from Cummins' bowling anyways.Lyon and Head will be really important today. Spin is often the key on 5th day run chases.
We know what we're going to get from Cummins & Boland
Looking forward to a short ball barrage with everyone on the boundaryWe know what we'll get from Cummins' bowling anyways.
His tactics OTOH...................
Whilst I don’t want to see a barrage, with the inconsistent bounce getting pretty bad late yesterday, some good short ball bowling will be handy.Looking forward to a short ball barrage with everyone on the boundary
It's time for Jim Maxwell to hang up the microphone.
All 4 results still in play
All 4 results are possible here today.
5 options.All 4 results still in play
YepAnd India will get to roll it again for innings change.
