I think if we rock up to the Ashes with the same old, tired bowlers we are going to have our pants pulled down
Yup the management of the bowlers has to be crucial

going into the first test we can't have underdone bowlers....cummins was underdone start of this series

Hazelwood Starc will have to be managed and boland is getting on

Spencer Johnson and Jhye will be in the mix along with morris

Greg Chappell,
Wrote a great article in the AGE today about the demise of the Sheffield Shield due to T20,
Completely agree,
Cricket is at the cross roads now even suburban cricket.

Heā€™s a bullshit artist who has changed his tune more times than Iā€™ve changed jocks. ā€œToo Lateā€ as Malcolm Marshall said to me one day after he took my batting partnerā€™s head off

Fergus is a gun, would be ideal if he could gain 5 to 10km/h pace
That's my worry about him. I just think you need more pace to play Test cricket. Maybe Ryan Harris can do some work with him. Harris was able to add at least 20kph to enable him to play Test cricket.

I have similar ideas around the calendar. But I feel like the 2nd and 3rd suggestions are counterproductive to the first.

Thanks for posting it - i will chase it up and i suspect heā€™s right BUT this bloke had a major role in where we are at now while he was at CA. Not that anyone cares but i had a heated argument with him at a CV Coaching Conference about 10 years ago. Jon Deeble grabbed me after and congratulated me for having the nuts to challenge him and told me ā€œYouā€™re not wrongā€

Anyone over thirty five grew up watching some of the most breath taking cricket you could ever see and anything after that is going to look a bit pedestrian. It hasn't helped that almost all of those teams have ended up in the media where they love to remind us how good they were.
They also played on a lot of roads in the late 90's and 00's which helped the batters score a lot of runs quicker just like England now give their bats roads so they can score quickly. There was barely anything close to the pitches we have seen across the country in the last 3-4 years

Is but I doubt it - I hope like hell he can but I reckon heā€™s destined to be the next Chadd Sayers.

Talking to a few experienced heads last week - tall and Fast quicks are essentially all they want at the elite level
Thatā€™s why my daughter never gets picked in rep sides. Not quick enough or tall enough but generally has the best economy rate and takes wickets.
