You'd think after training and doing sweaty, greasy ballwork in the hot perth sun during summer the eagles would be used to the conditions. Seriously playing at the gabba is not the reason for the great result for lions!

It was certainly a factor tonight the humidity. However we haven't managed to capitalise on the greasy conditions for years to put it mildly.

WC didn't pinch a flag, they had the best win/loss ratio over the previous 4 seasons for both finals and regular season post 2018.

Tonight the players phoned it in, big wake up call.
Yeah they did. And I believe this season will show it.

They were widely tipped to finish low. For good reasons. Full credit they didn't. I believe they've had their best time. Port 2005 written all over it for me. Good enough to scare, but on the downhill imo.

Eagles back to reality. Good on them for pinching a flag though. Just like the Doggies.

Commentator harping on about 6 under 15 games... Well we had 4 on debut against Melbourne.....

Yeah but Melbourne are bad club, not just playing list.

Also, reality was we won 10 straight last year including beating the Tigers by eight goals. We've also won the most games of any club over the last four seasons so the Dogs comparison is a stretch.

Yep. But greasy from sweat or greasy from humidity is much the same. All slippery. The weather doesn't beat you by 44.
Of course it doesn't, Brisbane played extremely well but they definitely handled the conditions much better.

Also, I've lived in both Perth and Brisbane, very very different conditions when hot. Perth is dry and in Brisbane it's humid as ****, even in mid-low 20s.

best winning percentage for 4 years and most finals won as well as previously making a Grand final 3 years earlier. You're cooked if you think we 'pinched' a premiership because Robert Walls tipped us for the spoon.

Everyone best the Tigers interstate...

I think your best is behind. You snagged a flag. You wouldn't have expected that going into last season...

Did you seriously believe that you would win the flag last season?

Thats Port 04/05 written all over it. Long sustained success and i believe that the best is behind you.

I mean, it's difficult to improve on winning the last game of the season? Nice of you to ignore all the other aspects that differentiates from the Dogs comparison you erroneously made though.

We've got a list that's proved it can win when the pressure is on, you might have witnessed that first hand over recent times. So not panic stations yet.

Yeah I somehow don't see it being 80% humidity when Port play there

It's been humid in Melbourne all week too. Get over yourself and give the team that's had it harder than most for 15 years some credit.

Im not knocking you so don't get all upset about it.

With your best fwd getting on, your best ruck on a cross road I think it only goes 1 way. That doesn't mean I don't think you are making the 8....I just think you've hit your peak already.

I think if you read back the thread you'll find why my original comment was laced with sarcasm for some posts. Both teams played on same field with same ball. It be like saying eagles can't win in Melbourne during winter as it's too cold.

The south isn't tropical, it doesn't get that much humidity. If there is a decent wind blowing it isn't too bad but if it's pretty still it can be oppressive.
