Yeah they did. And I believe this season will show it.

They were widely tipped to finish low. For good reasons. Full credit they didn't. I believe they've had their best time. Port 2005 written all over it for me. Good enough to scare, but on the downhill imo.

And the award for the biggest round 1 over reaction goes to.

Swans werent an amazing side last year and they beat us in Perth. You are going to look like a fool in a month.
You think Sydney 12 months ago aren't as good as Brisbane? You look pretty stupid now.

Pretty sure this result is ten times worse.

careful... Bulldogs fans are now aware that their flag was a fluke... let's see if the Eagles go the same way. If you don't make the 8 this year.... ooooweeeeeee

It was a fluke. Fluked every win to get to second place with the double chance.
Fluked our first final win against you, then fluked our prelim smashing of melbourne, then fluked an away win grand final after travelling in a stadium outnumbered by opposition supporters 4 to 1. Biggest fluke artist team to ever play the game.

Our pathetic team should realistically hand the cup back and have it cut in half to be divided between Richmond and Collingwood.

Turn it up mate. Brisbane arent Brisbane of last year which was pretty freaking obvioius to anyone. Go back to your troll hole. Some people. Their team wins 1 game and suddenly they are a flag chance. ****ing lol.

Of course I get this reply. I’m fine with them celebrating. The last couple of goals were just celebrated like they won the grand final. Singing the song with gusto and celebrating at the final siren is fine. Getting all 18 players to run over and celebrate goals up 36 and then 42 points is slightly overboard.

Look at the first quarter. WCE score 4 goals within a couple of minutes. I think the celebration was for actually sticking to the plan and following through. It is really a massive deal for the group.

The Eagles’ flag wasn’t a fluke given they were a consistent finals side and made the grand final three years earlier. If they fade away, then the flag was the end of a successful period. That said, the core is still quite young, we’ve debuted plenty of promising kids, I don’t expect a rapid fall.

Brisbane today aren't as good as Sydney 12 months ago you fool.

Why don't you look at the tweet for the biggest R1 Premier loss in 50 years? Wonder if that was against a former bottom 4 team too...

We played shit. They played well. Simple. But if you want to be a fool and go predict the entire season of 4 quarters go ahead. You just look like an amateur.
Nah it's the humidity lol

Worst excuse ever.

Only 20,000 rocked up. Thought there would be more on a sat night with Brisbane on the up against the premiers
AFL's just not popular here. I can't see you'd have that many supporters making the trip across the country, whereas we tend to pull a few more numbers against say Collingwood or Carlton regardless of where they are on the ladder. Then we currently have 23k members including the interstate/Vic members, and the Broncos also played last night which was all over the local news and would've taken a bit of a shine off our opener - and they got a win too.

Tonight's attendance is still above our average for 2018 home games, so it's a plus. And it will increase if we continue to show that type of game play. Brisbane casual supporters are just a bit slow to show.
