Collingwood couldn’t have played worse in that last quarter. Played one minute of decent footy and almost won

People keep saying that, but Melbourne won the clearances to control field position and then set up perfectly behind the ball. So many teams have lost their shape behind Collingwood's chaos ball. They didn't lose it late in games when teams normally tire and struggle with that.

Melbourne had 9 more scoring shots and dominated in a way that was worthy of a much bigger victory.

Collingwood made more mistakes with the ball in hand because of how Melbourne set up the ground and then put pressure on the ball. Melbourne missed a clutch of easish set shots that would have made it a big victory.

I would still like to see these two play each other with Oliver and De Goey playing as dynamic players bursting out of the stoppage would have broken the game open in the first half a lot more.

If Melbourne can bring that every week they're going to be tough to beat. It is a finals-winning brand of football.
