I will already state that Collingwood 2023 are far beyond the Collingwood 2018 version that thumped the dynasty version of the Tigers in a Preliminary Final (50 plus points ahead before half time before easing down). Collingwood's only finals meeting against them during that period.

Whether they can get to the heights of Collingwood 2010/11 is yet to be seen.
2011? Did the pies win the flag in 2011 or was it just another failed grand final appearance. Geez if you’re including 2011 you might as well include your back2back in 2002/03.

You might want to let your current team achieve something better than your immortal 2018 Preliminaryship team before declaring them far beyond. So far all they have done was be beaten by an uncompetitive Grand Final loser in a Preliminary Final, and won 1 final, v Fremantle. :tearsofjoy:

Oh and by the way, how did Collingwood's current dynasty outfit fare against the Tigers team in 2022...that wasn't within 10 goals of our dynasty teams? ;)
I did say Collingwood 2023, didn't I?

Collingwood's lesser 2022 team finished 4 positions ahead ahead two weeks later in the season than Richmond 2022, but any reasonable analyst will agree the Collingwood 2023 model is far superior.

Yep, unfortunately we ran into Geelong 2011 that year.

If only we had have timed our peak better to come up against teams inferior to the strongest team we have seen since the turn of the century.

Ahhh yes you must just had bad timing and luck these past 60 odd years.
Not really. Many of the losing Grand Final teams simply weren't great teams, but they gave us a great run bang for our buck, such as Collingwood 2002, 2003 and 2018.

Collingwood 2011 were a better team than most of the premiership teams I have seen in my lifetime, with the exception of the likes of Carlton 1995, Essendon 2000 and the Geelong premiership teams.

Collingwood 2023?

The team that has won 2 games. Fmd. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Collingwood's 2011 "better than most premiership teams" Vadge has seen in his lifetime last 4 matches of 2011:

8.5 53 v Geelong 22.17 149

12.10 82 v West Coast Eagles playing interstate away 9.8 62

10.8 68 v Hawthorn 9.11 65

12.9 81 v Geelong 18.11 119

Highest score 82 points. Highest score conceded 149 points. Highest winning margin 20 points v interstate team on MCG. Highest losing margin 96 points on Collingwood's home ground.

What a team. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Great assessment from the Meteoric Stats Sheet Analyst.

I love your confidence. I want Collingwood to win, will be too disappointing if we burst your bubble this early in the season.

I can see your 2 wins against teams who offered no resistance have made you moist Vadge, it is delightful. :)
Let's see how much 'resistence' your team offers tomorrow night.

Talking about moist, I hope the Richmond players arrive armed with plenty of lubricant. They're going to need it.

Who tags the Umpies?
My biggest concern.
Tiger team will be fine.

Your kids look very promising Smasha, very hard to see them defeat an almost full strength Pies outfit (Howe is out and Ginnivan coming back from a club imposed sanction) but I have been wrong before.

I think the Tigers will desperate try win for Dimma's 300th game as coach, but fall just short.

You mean the weak facsimile of the revolution Richmond enjoyed 6 years ago, the one that commenced by ticking the Premiership box?

So far this Collingwood jugger-nought has matched Nafan's second best season, almost beating a Sydney team in a Prelim that got slaughtered in a Grand Final. And we are told they are a young and exciting team and Richmond are old and past it.

But Rd 2 2023 Richmond field the 2nd oldest team in the AFL for that round and Collingwood fields what, the 3rd oldest?

And Rd 3 2023 Collingwood will paddock a team comfortably older than that which Richmond fields.

You should know by now Osho, Collingwood are well known to generate home & away hyperbole that leads to finals failure. It is one of the wonderful things about following football in my lifetime, and I am sure, yours. :)

AFL Premiership Winner 2023
  • Collingwood. 5.00.
  • Melbourne. 6.50.
  • Geelong. 7.00.
  • Brisbane. 8.00.
  • Sydney. 9.00.
  • Richmond. 9.50.
  • Carlton. 10.00.
  • Port Adelaide. 15.00.
Ahhh I see. I thought the monthly premiers are the teams at the top of the ladder. My bad.

Collective sigh of relief amongst the Richmond faithful as Mason Cox misses tomorrow night.

Think you will find it is 13-13 since Richmond entered the competition. And 13-11 our way since we found our feet in the competition. And 8 Grand Final wins to 1 in our lifetimes Fadge.

Don't worry though, winning Grand Finals is a potential area for growth for the Collingwood FC. Tigers don't have much RFI in that area. ;)
Really 😳, Plenty of room for improvement campaigner, 6 games played head to head in grand finals and its 4 to the Pies and 2 to Tigers.
Your winning record against the Pies in Grand Finals is 33%.
So what’s with the Bill Laurie, Prime minister smoke and mirrors you keep rolling out?
Despite our poor overall record of winning GF’s it’s not the case when we play the Poo Dumpers 😘.

Richmond is certainly the most hated of Melbourne clubs. Comes with being the biggest.

You're very bitter obsession with Richmond can't be healthy. But Geez, your head must have exploded when Hopper chose Richmond over little Geelong.

Mate. It was 6 years ago, it was only a Qualifying Final, and the people that made that loud noise that terrified you and drove you home home in tears to hide under your bed and tattle to Neil Mitchell were just children barracking for their club. Get counselling if you need to, but must you stink up every Richmond preview and game day thread with your humourless rage?

Anytime someone on the internet resorts to 'mate' or 'champ' you know you have hit a nerve.

I really couldn't care less what happened 6 years ago. Anyone who knows me will attest to my disrespect toward my own football club. Choke artists post 2011 and even right up until the grand final last year, I never gave em a chance so you what transpired in 2017 means literally nothing to me.

I just logged onto over the preseason and the amount of animosity toward Geelong from Richmond supporters was at a height I had never witnessed before. It may have stemmed from Stewart knocking out Prestia but Steve Hocking appears to cop a bit from your supporters as well.

As for counseling and rage, your supporters are well known as being the most vile, offensive and outright disrespected in the competition. Remember when one of your own delivered a truck load of chicken sh*t to Punt Road headquarters? This is what we are dealing with here. Supporter base who are criminal by nature and believe everything they preach.
Seeing it now with Dustin Martin.
Even as a big Gary Ablett Snr fan I can admit he ain't the GOAT but you lot seriously believe in the Martin hysteria. Such a deluded and disrespected club, supporter base.

Damien Hardwick going to VFL matches and insinuating he is going to punch on with Williamstown footballers . . . . . lol this is Richmond in a nutshell.
