There is absolutely no doubt they have been extremely lucky in Grand Finals dean, and should stop whingeing, as you say, it could easily have been way worse. :tearsofjoy:

Since Bill Lawry scored his maiden ton for Victoria:

Richmond Grand Final record 8 wins from 10 Grand finals 80% win rate.

Collingwood 14 Grand Finals for 1 win 7% win rate.

But as you point out dead, we are bloody unlucky to not have much bigger Grand Final winning % margin over them. 11 x the strike rate doesn't seem ample reward for all the consistent hard work we have put in over that time.

However, we should be humble. They have it all over us in the Adam Treloar Stakes. :tearsofjoy:
You had 37 years of obscurity between the 1980 and 2017 GF.
37 years of complete irrelevance, and only 1 GF appearance which was a loss in that time. And 35 years without even making it to the big dance.
Sad sack Richmond supporters for 37 years, blaming the world for the injustice.

Like all things - LUCK finally smiles on everyone.

As a supporter of Great Club, who am I to begrudge happiness to the supporter of a club that history has shown is a minnow by comparison to Collingwood.

Richmond last 6 years = 3 premierships

Collingwood last 60 years = 2 premierships

Anytime someone on the internet resorts to 'mate' or 'champ' you know you have hit a nerve.

I really couldn't care less what happened 6 years ago. Anyone who knows me will attest to my disrespect toward my own football club. Choke artists post 2011 and even right up until the grand final last year, I never gave em a chance so you what transpired in 2017 means literally nothing to me.

I just logged onto over the preseason and the amount of animosity toward Geelong from Richmond supporters was at a height I had never witnessed before. It may have stemmed from Stewart knocking out Prestia but Steve Hocking appears to cop a bit from your supporters as well.

As for counseling and rage, your supporters are well known as being the most vile, offensive and outright disrespected in the competition. Remember when one of your own delivered a truck load of chicken sh*t to Punt Road headquarters? This is what we are dealing with here. Supporter base who are criminal by nature and believe everything they preach.
Seeing it now with Dustin Martin.
Even as a big Gary Ablett Snr fan I can admit he ain't the GOAT but you lot seriously believe in the Martin hysteria. Such a deluded and disrespected club, supporter base.

Damien Hardwick going to VFL matches and insinuating he is going to punch on with Williamstown footballers . . . . . lol this is Richmond in a nutshell.
You still have the tigers living in your head.
Time to demand the rent how long can they live rent free

I don’t begrudge a minnow Club finally having its day in the sun - 35 years without a GF appearance is a long enough stretch of misery.
You deserved a reprieve - and I’m happy for all my Richmond mates.

But Coll as history proves, is a powerhouse that keeps contending, while Rich falls into long periods of irrelevance.
Enjoy your brief moment in the sun.

Or in Richmond's case they fall well below the benchmark now that the standard of the better teams have improved significantly compared to that dark/weak era that was 2016 to 2020...
There, there, big fella, let all the tears out. It's ok.

Based on this 'history' it's quite amazing that Collingwood have won more premierships than Richmond...
Yeah, 2 flags in 60 years. The rest won in a 6 team competition. Tell us again about the roaring 30's gramps. And in AFL flag terms, Richmond have 3, Collingwood 2. Poor little parrot has to include VFL flags to be relevant.....

In the last 60 years - George Costagna 3 premierships, Collingwood 2.

Fixed that for you Straight Break. Contending is when you are something other than a bye for the opponent in a Grand Final. :)

As for our "brief" moment in the sun, 4 years is a pretty long orgasm I can tell you.

I feel just about ready to go again too. :)

Lame - just like the performance of your team during its 35 year period of irrelevance.
You guys were a “bye” for virtually every team, for every round, over 35 seasons.

I don't think it would surprise anyone on here if the regularity and frequency of your bedroom encounters aligned with Richmond's Premiership successes.

Ok will revise my earlier post for you.

Collingwood last 60 years - 2 premierships

It’s a pity you can’t erase 35 years of irrelevance as easily.
What were Richmond supporters doing during this dark period?
My Rich mates were wasting money on memberships, had fathers who took up Gardening during football season - clear desperation given nothing grows in winter.
And their mothers unpicked Rich scarves.
As for their sisters, they never dated Rich supporter’s because being with losers during the football season is no fun.

Dark times indeed.

As Eddie said on Footy Classified last night. He’s slowly coming around to the prison bars as it’ll remind him of a SANFL quality side running around in the big league two weeks in a row.

Port FC grand poohbahs and their supporters sure like their SANFL Creed and philosophy (we exist to win premierships) unfortunately we have seen very little evidence of that since they entered the big league in 1997.
