It’s a pity you can’t erase 35 years of irrelevance as easily.
What were Richmond supporters doing during this dark period?
My Rich mates were wasting money on memberships, had fathers who took up Gardening during football season - clear desperation given nothing grows in winter.
And their mothers unpicked Rich scarves.
As for their sisters, they never dated Rich supporter’s because being with losers during the football season is no fun.

Dark times indeed.
I love that my 7 year old son has seen more premierships in his lifetime than a 64 yr old pies fan:)

I’m very happy for your son, because for 35 years 7 year olds were growing into bitter adults at their team’s dismal failure.
I’m glad things have changed for the current 7 year olds - I wouldn’t want them suffering the misery of the past.

In the last 60 years - George Costagna 3 premierships, Collingwood 2.

And Richmond 35 years of irrelevance before finally coming out of the dark.
Enjoy your brief time of resurgence.

And i repeat -
In the last 60 years -
Jason Costagna - 3 premierships
Collingwood- 2 premierships.
But go one. Tell us all about your “success”.

Anytime someone on the internet resorts to 'mate' or 'champ' you know you have hit a nerve.

I really couldn't care less what happened 6 years ago. Anyone who knows me will attest to my disrespect toward my own football club. Choke artists post 2011 and even right up until the grand final last year, I never gave em a chance so you what transpired in 2017 means literally nothing to me.

I just logged onto over the preseason and the amount of animosity toward Geelong from Richmond supporters was at a height I had never witnessed before. It may have stemmed from Stewart knocking out Prestia but Steve Hocking appears to cop a bit from your supporters as well.

As for counseling and rage, your supporters are well known as being the most vile, offensive and outright disrespected in the competition. Remember when one of your own delivered a truck load of chicken sh*t to Punt Road headquarters? This is what we are dealing with here. Supporter base who are criminal by nature and believe everything they preach.
Seeing it now with Dustin Martin.
Even as a big Gary Ablett Snr fan I can admit he ain't the GOAT but you lot seriously believe in the Martin hysteria. Such a deluded and disrespected club, supporter base.

Damien Hardwick going to VFL matches and insinuating he is going to punch on with Williamstown footballers . . . . . lol this is Richmond in a nutshell.
Nice meltdown champ :thumbsu:

It’s funny because it’s true.

Nah, they grew into supporters who have seen more premiership success than Collingwood supporters of the last 60 years.

Your little club is finally basking in the limelight - after 35 miserable years in the wilderness as an uncompetitive rable.
Luck eventually comes to everyone- enjoy.
Meanwhile the big Clubs like Coll contend - 35 years in the wilderness never happens with great clubs.

After the failure, misery, and despondency, of 35 years in the wilderness, I don’t begrudge you a little happiness.

I have seen 4 flags in my lifetime. That’s double any living magpie supporter of the last 60 years. I pity you guys. Actually thinking you’re successful when we dwarf you in AFL flags and memberships. It’s ok little fella, you go on believing “your truth”.

It’s the want of supporters of little
Club to assuage their insecurities by using selective statistics.
When did the competition decide Flags prior to the AFL era should not count?

Only your small Club inferiority, forces you to use such laughable analysis- it’s embarrassing.
Give yourself an upper cut.

Oh, i’m not the one melting and embarrassing myself here. I reply because you amuse me. And the AFL era started in the 80’s. It’s time you modernized. That’s when the VFL finished. But, I certainly understand why as a Collingwood supporter you’d be desperate to include flags from 19 tickety two. It’s the only way you try to stay relevant. Because for 58 years out if the last 60 you have been an irrelevance.

Actually the AFL era started in 1990 - and it was fitting the leagues greatest Club Collingwood won the inaugural flag.
We have been a great Club from the beginning - we don’t need selective statistics to prove our greatness.
But please by all means stick to the AFL era comparisons - it gives myself and others on the board a good laugh.

Apologies, i was going by when West Coast come in the comp in the 80’s. And yes, Collingwood won one of its 2 flags of the last 60 years that year. Congratulations.
I mean if you want to go back 60 years, Richmond 8, Collingwood 2.
Or you wanna do AFL, Richmond 3, Collingwood 2.
And “you don’t need selective statistics to prove your greatness”. But yet, you try to rely on them in your own arguments. That’s the perfect quote for me to finish this post on. You are magnificent.
And it’s the AFL, not the VFL now. However, a club so entrenched with racism, i can understand why you cling to the past. It’s your “safe space”.

Jesus mate, Fadge is trying to save your blushes with a few likes on your posts. I wanted to say you are out of your depth here. But you would be out of your depth at the shallow end of a kid's swimming pool. Take a breather and head back to your own board until you develop a bit further. Send doppleganger and some of your other better posters who know how to handle themselves over here. I feel guilty replying to your posts.

And take this thought with you.

In the 2019 Mid-Season Draft Richmond recruited a player by the name of Marlion Pickett who had been overlooked in many many drafts. He was recruited with a long term injury. He managed to start playing in about mid August of that year. By the end of the season he had more AFL and VFL Grand Finals wins than the Collingwood senior team has managed in 64 years.

6 weeks of Marlion = 2 VFL and AFL Grand Final wins.

64 years of Collingwood senior team = 1 VFL or AFL Grand Final win.

How fitting an indigenous man embarrassed the most racist club in history like that.

I’ve have simply said your time in the sun after 35 years in the wilderness was overdue.
But great Clubs like Coll would never tolerate 35 years without a GF appearance - that’s why our flag total far exceeds Richmonds.
And when it comes to wooden spoons well, you win that race easily.

We had a 76 year stretch without a wooden spoon - now that is the mark of a Great Club. By comparison Richmonds best was 27 years.

This is getting good. 2021 Collingwood finished 17th. Richmond have never finished as low as that.

Come on mate, you've had enough. Banter isn't your thing. That's fine. It took me ages to master it, about 3 posts. :)

Came in here to read some quality banter and found a bunch of people bickering over things that happened in the past as if they’re going to have any bearing on how badly the Tigers get smashed tomorrow.

Oh well.
