I don’t know. He’s turned it over a bunch, and he also doesn’t get back to defend. He’s one of the reasons why the Saints consistently find a player out inside 50 whenever the Bombers turn the ball over (or he does)

I'm use to pitying them. It's just another iteration of normal programing. A never ending, 2 decade plus malaise.

Does “tough edge” refer to them taking cheap shots on opposition players? They played very rough in that regard last week I must admit.

I do agree as I have seen him turnover a bit. Seems to be getting the ball more than any other defender though so perhaps it makes the rest look like they have done nothing?

Maybe because whenever the ball goes into the defence, he seems to be the only player getting it so it makes him look really good?

The rule is ludicrous currently.

It's counter productive to the whole 'speed the game up' shit that the AFL has been spruiking for years. They have changed so many rules and ripped the game to pieces in order to pursue this goal of a fast flowing game with minimal stoppages - yet they have this idiotic HTB interoretation:

A guy gets tackled and purposely holds it in with literally zero desire or intent to get it out, and forces a stoppage - no Free.

A guy gets tackled, tries to move it on but doesn't dispose of it correctly - Free Kick.


It's just weird. Watching a game of modern AFL fulls you with frustration from the constant blowing of the whistle for inconsequential shit - yet the HTB rule which actually slows the game down considerably is just let go.

Makes no sense to me.
