Adelaide probably threatened to take them to court and really fu** them up.
You clearly don’t understand how taking someone to court works, you can’t sue someone for handing out a severe penalty when you were first warned about the severe penalty on multiple occasions then proceed to ignore those warnings and break the rules anyway.

I can think of a thousand workplace examples of exactly your scenario. Good job, pal.

I said “threaten” and given the State Law says 10 then you classify as a restraint of trade. A state law over rules a sport rule.

Geelong:

North:

Freo:
They were all after the season was suspended, and weren't breaking AFL rules, they were private issues.
Technically the North and Cats party wasn't breaking any rules, you were still allowed gatherings at home then, it was just viewed as inappropriate.

The difference is the Crows put the resumption of AFL games at risk by breaking rules put in place to help resume the competition.

Dandrews said on his presser that the Vic government had come to an agreement to allow exemptions to professional sporting clubs (I.e AFL and Storm).
I didn't watch the conference but I'm still reading it as 10.
The AFL website has it at 10. Is there any other doco? Maybe the exemptions were in regard to other things?

That's the dilemma, and at the same time they can't afford to have any more financial blackhole's that GWS and the Suns are.
Merge the Suns and Carlton.. two negatives make a positive right?..

Merge Stkilda with GWS.

Force North Melbourne to move to Tassie..

Move the Bulldogs to Darwin..

Hey presto... fully national competition and some of the shit and/or financially unviable Victorian clubs are dealt with. Also achieves what the reduction in player lists to 35 would achieve in that some of the deadwood and shite players would be forced back to the second tier comps. 16 clubs means 88 less players than 18 clubs.

16 team comp.. re-negotiate the TV rights/media deals..

But the AFL are too gutless and Viccentric to do this..

And this is a discussion for a different thread... this is the ’pile on the crows’ thread!.. although.. it could be related because any large fine payed by the crows will more than likely go toward propping up the finances of the hopeless “welfare” clubs in Vicco!..

Yeah Kirky...

You’d know this if you’d spent as much time in front of a district court judge as most Power supporters have!...

You’re suggesting not many crows supports have the capacity to become lawyers or be involved at a high enough level in the corporate sector where they’d be involved in similar legal matter to restraint of trade or come across other complex legal matters ?

The Crows (my club) are F%&ken idiots for putting themselves in this position in the first place. But honestly, the outcry for 100k plus fine and loss of draft picks or premiership points, please... Bit hard for the AvFL to enforce a 'fairness bulls&it rule' that hasn't even officially been added to the rule book. Court of law AFL has no leg to stand on and they know it.
Give us some type of fine for pure stupidity and move on.

from the herald sun:
"Victorian AFL teams will be able to train together as a large group under an exemption granted by the state government. But they must still yet obtain league approval and remain contained in an exclusive facility that is not attended by anyone not associated with the team. "
nice victorian football league you got there

No... I wasn’t suggesting that at all..

No issues with this as it isn’t a competitive advantage at all 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪.

Let’s see what the AFL do to reinforce their fairness issue.

Can’t wait to see the somersaults that AFL House perform to get the outcome they’re after here with this news.

It is going to be very difficult to penalise Adelaide harshly, while affording Victorian clubs what they’ve already labelled as an unfair advantage with training.
