It should have been handled internally. Once they found out some past players had issues, they should have asked Clarko and others to come in and have a sit down with the players/family and have a heartfelt chat about what their experiences were, how it was perceived from Clarko and the other admin's end. I think most of the issues would have been easily resolved with a conversation, the thing with Rioli is the odd one of the lot but it seems odd that Rioli and his family have a bigger issue with Kennett than they do with Clarkson. Rioli seemed to be quite close up until he retired.

Seeing how they acted together and comments he made about Clarkson seem totally out of character if what they claimed was true, you wouldn't be speaking glowing about someone who did something like that to you. Something weird went down and there should have been a thorough internal investigation. They should have gone with someone who wasn't biased though, it just set it up for failure/disaster from the word go.

Well, I'm not sure if that's true. I think it was the Riolis who said that after they co-opted the whole saga towards the end and as part of the AFL investigation. I don't think the Riolis spoke to Russell Jackson at all and I don't know if they were part of Phil Egan's report. They became the show right at the death and the other families fell into line behind them. I suspect the other families would not necessarily agree that they were never interested in financial compensation.

I don’t mind Robbo, but he‘s so out of line here. Where’s the quotes from Clarko and Fagan confirming any of this. When will the media get back to doing their jobs properly. He’s not wrong about the AFL’s deal making leaving a bad taste in the mouth. He’s totally wrong that Hawthorn or anyone else needs to pay attention to Jeff Kennett.

The Hawks are who they are, whether it's pokies (which they recently sold for serious coin rather than get out of the business), trying to blame those who are no longer at the club for racism issues at the club, or the childish letter to the AFL in regards to the Roos getting Band 1 for McKay.

We are also who we are, and this statement from Sonja when most would rake over the coals (for no other reason than the opportunity to do so) shows exactly who we are. For me, the Roos value good people and their behaviour is reflected in their words and actions.
