The 8 months to extract the exact allegations is well outside most peoples expectation of what is deemed as fair.

It's not really surprising. Anyone who went to a game at Windy Hill, especially in the 70's and 80's would know all about Essendon supporters. Not so much the team, the team had some players I respected, but the supporters at games, and particularly towards opposition fans who were just there to watch the game and their behaviour after the '85 GF was a level lower than shit. Collingwood supporters often get criticised, but they wouldn't have held a candle to this mob even at Victoria Park. The epitome of scum.

I studiously tuned in because I had been in a conference all day. Apparently those two blokes are the biggest victims and misunderstood parties in all this. And the heroes of compassionate neutral thoughts, I think was implied. Not the people actually involved in the whole thing, the two blokes in SEN.

I assume you mean figuratively, not literally. If the latter, I'm very disappointed that you didn't take the opportunity to plant your foot and then back up over them a couple of times for good measure.

I have to say this is one thing we should be proud of.

Before Sonja became president do you reckon we'd have been in this position? She, Viney and everyone running and working at the club deserve credit because this is a ****ed situation and the club is coming thru it in the best possible shape it could.

When things go to shit the quicker you can get back some sort of normal function the better and having Ratten available now, just because he was a good footy brain that was suddenly available after last season is just good work. That saying you make your own luck - that's what it means. I know this a pretty bad time but its also a sign of how much better things are in terms of we are being run.

Compare it to what happened at the end of 2020.

Its good for us and good for Clarkson cos it makes the decision to leave less of a burden on him and hopefully that helps him recover faster and better.

he might have felt obliged to carry on if we didn't have a good set up in place for him to walk away from.
