lyon been poor for few years now, time for new crew take over after next few series, same as Warner, impossible for any NSW players to get dropped

Thats not the case.

v NZ 20 wickets @ 17.25
v India 9 wickets @ 55.11
v England 16 wickets @ 23.56
v Pakistan 12 wickets @ 44.92
v Sri Lanka 11 wickets @ 28.64
v Windies 12 wickets @ 21.17
v South Africa 10 wickets @ 26.20

His had two poor series, one against Pakistan on roads and the other against India, them aside his been Australia's best bowler.

Hes good against tail enders and poor teams. When you need him to win a game for you he never does. Just don't find him that threatening of a bowler. See his stats against india, pakistan and Sri Lanka aren't that good where the subcontinent teams are good against spin hes more ineffective.

But we haven't applied the same criteria for Warner, even though Head's recent form has been far superior".
Good Point. Warner is out of chips but CA still pick him. No room in cricket for sentiment. If he stinks up here in Delhi he must be dropped. With either Renshaw in his place or fly over the most consistent opener in Shield past three seasons.

Interesting that his recent record as a spinner on the subcontinent apart from Sri lanka is poor

we are talking about horses for courses aren't we

nah just joking still a fantastic player

I looked this up. Wickets taken against batting order positions for Lyon:
1-3: 117 (25.4%)
4-7: 191 (41.4%)
8-11: 153 (33.2%)

I thought I would compare Lyon's figures to Warne's.
1-3: 163 (23.0%)
4-7: 282 (39.8%)
8-11: 263 (37.1%)

They look quite similar to me, in fact Lyon is (by percentage) superior in wickets taken from 1-7 (66.8% to 62.8%).

Quicks are only used for 10 overs a innings each in India so if Green is fit only need 1.

That would make sense if we had a decent spinner to come in but we dont.

You're right he definitely sucks against India.

Oh wait. That's Warne. Look it happens that you tend to end up with the worst averages against the best players of spin.

Lyon's stats stack up well enough to show he's been a great player.

Great stuff. Think it’s more just a ‘vibe’ thing for old mate.

1. Khawaja
2. Renshaw
3. Labuschange
4. Smith
5. Handscomb
6. Head
7. Carey
8. Cummins
9. Murphy
10. Boland
11. Kuhnemann

Only way Kuhermann plays is if Green does. You need a second seam option.
