He was moving very poorly. Neale may have been better option today dare I say it.
They wanted to try three talls before tonight. Today’s game cemented that they will try it.

Gawn has eaten him alive a few times, too. Not that it's really much of a guide, to be honest - more to the point, Rhys has had a bad 2024 apart from the Bulldogs game. His 2023 was not good, either.

Conway doesn't have a huge tank, sure, but we do have the best part-timer in the game. I don't think we lose anything by playing Conway.

Getting beaten at ground level by Pittonet is a real worry.
Hard disagree.

I’d be giving Conway a crack. Good experience for the boy.

Spin is what results in a dump, though.
Nah watch again. Kolo just lets him have a kick thinking the ball up is coming. Just had to spin him. They were both standing. Zero chance of a dump.

7-0

We are Geelong!

Ohhhh loose LID, you just made me book accommodation near the MCG for September 27-28.
Too soon?

I mean... that's your prerogative? It's a footy discussion board, disagreement (hard or soft) is normal.
I’m used to Rhys being underrated and harshly criticised. Expected it after tonight.

The point is his losing against a muppet has never meant he won’t hold his own against a gun. It’s quintessential Rhys.

Carlton had more kicks, marks, handballs, hit-outs, contested possessions, metres gained, inside 50s, tackles inside 50s and scoring shots, yet still lost. 🤣
I wonder how often that has actually happened in a game? I'd think it would be ultra-rare. Maybe in the tens of 100,000+ footy games to have ever been played? Could be wrong though. I'm advancing well into the beers now!

JD is a legend but he dead set barracks against us
Not professional but understandable given the rivalry and the sorry state of the Hawthorn FC. Hawks supporters resent that Geelong haven't had to rebuild since the turn of the century. I miss the old rivalry, but alas, there has not been much competition since Kennett's curse.

He conceded 11 clearances to Pittonet tonight. Any criticism of him is far from harsh.

🙋🏻‍♂️

This was the first time I’ve ever been worried about Hawkins.
I was only worried about him over 10 years ago when he could bend over for a period. I’m not the slightest bit concerned - I think he’ll have games like this where he doesn’t get a sniff with not an abundance of opportunity, but I’m sure he’ll have plenty for the rest of the year where he sets up goals, creates space and kicks a few. To me that’s the year we’re looking at, and the way we play now - just a real spreading of the load. We’re winning games with low midfield possession numbers as an example, but everyone doing their bit.

I do think Carlton will be there at the pointy end when they get a few back. Small forwards in particular. They really need the class of Martin.

I’m normally a big take the win and any 4 points are precious (they are) guy, but I came away a little less confident of our premiership chances after that.

I actually thought they were pushing Danger to the limit in first half and he was only mid at the level to compete. Paid a big price.

Bruhn, Bowes, Parfitt and co have some work to do.

Great Guthrie got through, and Stengle and Cameron were sublime.

Kolo also played his best game for club, so congrats to him.

SDK is moving down my favourite players list.

Maybe it’s because they have integrity, just like our club as a whole.
You can have intergrity, which would mean logically two-siding everything. But ARE they two-siding? Seems like they are pandering a bit too much. I don't mind talking up the opposition in gameplay. I don't mind excitement whoever scores the goal. It just seems like there's a conscious effort not to speak favorably of your own side at all as a Geelong exe, and that strikes me as a bitt odd.
