the problem is when we tried this in a must win game against st kilda last year neales ruckwork was absolutely horrendous. But we may have no other choice.
True. As you say at the end - he may be our best option.

Neale strikes me as a cerebral type, and a player that can improve through teaching. King & Ottens can help with that.

A positive that didn't miss me at all but added context to the first 8 games is just how good Bruhn has been at playing a lone hand at centre clearances.

It was effectively non existent for us in the first half.

What I saw from Butters and JHF looked a lot like what Bruhn has been doing for us. He's so young and full of talent. Excited to see him flourish as time goes on.

Tonight should be compulsory to watch the replay of the first quarter 10 times for anyone who doesnt think bruhn is auto best 22. I agree with you.

Mullin a better player without his hair in the way.. Was so frustrating watching port mids waltz out of the center with 0 pressure straight arm off any of our players that 'attempted' to tackle them..
JHF gave Parfitt a centre square lesson in Q1.

That was part of the reason Stanley was subbed, so we could get Mullin onto JHF in the middle... A role he has never played in AFL or VFL by the way.

Stanley was also his usual putrid self so he also contributed to his subbing.

I haven't gone with the "Hawkins is cooked" line yet... but he is looking every bit of it.

Since the Adelaide game, he can't get a meter of separation on his opponent and his running ability looks all but gone.

Have a think of the handful of marks on a lead he has taken in the last few weeks... Almost all of them have had to be an absolutely perfect pass to Hawkins leading right up on the boundary... and even with the perfect pass, his opponent is right up his clacker making him do everything right just to get that one wide mark on the lead.

He has never been fast but he isn't creating any space at all... Also can't chase.

Neale isn't flying... but it might just about be his time.
Neale kicked 3 in his only senior outing this year and has kicked 22 from his last 9 vfl games.

If you're playing Hawkins as a decoy then I would argue decoys only work when the oppo hasn't figured it out. You may as well play Neale.

JHF will give anyone without wheels a lesson. Missing Danger and our two with speed were at Half Back and on the bench with a jacket on.

I think neale has the ability to learn it but ideally we dont want him learning rucking on the fly learning how to be a kpf is hard enough and it might hinder his development.
BUT
I think hooking rhys sends a message about standards
He has to be gone for a month minimum now possibly for good
And we know conway lacks endurance
And if we dont have any help blitz will be cooked well before finals.
So i think we are going to have to put neale in as the main ruck some weeks and school him on the fly.

pity jeka doesnt have the necessary mongrel or he could ruck for us.

Parfitt, Clark and Mullin all need to be sent back to the VFL but not to many options to replace them.

On the back of Parfitt's first half I'd have agreed with you, but not his second half. Clark showed plenty but he's still a bit too skinny and is the obvious one to make way for Bruhn or Bowes. But if you think Mullin should be dropped then I can only shake my head and wonder what illicit perception-altering substances you've been using.

I agree with that but this is precisely why mannagh needs to be tried as he has wheels wheels.

This is also why bowes should have played to get body pressure on jhf at the stoppage.
