There is a magpie that's nesting in my local dog park and has taken to swooping people who are passing. It tried to have a go at me last week but my Maremma went nuts and scared it off. :D

I'm choosing to take this as a positive omen.
Never been swooped by a mapgie but the was this one bird that used to swoop my dog on our daily walk. Quite strange that it had no issues with me.

It was a racist bird

I actually hate GF week when my team participates. It drags on forever like when you're a kid waiting for Xmas. The difference is though, that you don't become a tense, wound up ball of nerves when you're waiting for Xmas.

Come on Saturday.

Looking back on my nerve-wracked pre-xmas nights as a kid, I really should've started drinking at a younger age. Grand Final nerves for me have nothing on the fear of not getting the sweet lego sets I wanted back then.

Also, on a separate recent thread discussion: if you want a local magpie to stop swooping you, bring along some food that it likes. They've clever enough birds and remember the source of a good feed.

I learned this when wooing my pies-supporting wife. Now every time she gets angry with me, I just need pop out to KFC or bring back some icecream. Already have a stash hidden away for when we win this weekend.

Gov is a serious chance to miss this game, hate to say it. Who comes in for him?

West Coast defender Jeremy McGovern will definitely play against Collingwood in the grand final despite rumours he is nursing broken ribs.

West Coast assistant coach Jaymie Graham has hosed down rumours that Jeremy McGovern is nursing broken ribs, saying the star defender is not in doubt for Saturday's grand final against Collingwood.

McGovern copped a knee to his body during the first half of last week's preliminary final win over Melbourne, and was rested for most of the first quarter.

The three-time All-Australian is yet to train this week, but Graham says McGovern is progressing well and will train on Friday at the MCG.

If there is a risk a knee could end his game in the first quarter, are we better off bringing someone else in? Or taking the risk.

Howe has sydmosis (sp?) ankle injury anything could happen there also but he will play .

Oscar Allen could be the emergency and if Gov is really no good he would play but Gov is playing never trains early in the week and has had the same injury during the year and been able to play with it .

They said on the news the team will have a low-key arrival at the airport, which is good.
Low profile is best.
The lion's share of locals will support the Eagles, don't worry.

Don’t tell me, they’ll be whisked out the back at Tullamarine to avoid the paparazzi? How arrogant.
