Another reason why I detest these short breaks.

In the event of injury (such as this) four days provides no time to effectively train any contingent plans to cover the loss.

Feel for the coaching panel trying to come up with a method to cover for missing three first-choice midfielders in just three days.

They should have abandoned the season.

This year sucks but the big positive is the games we have been able to get into Xon, Brander, Allen, Rotham, Williams, Edwards, Waterman, Cameron has been important along with the rise of player like Cole, Nelson and Duggan.

concussed in the first 8 minutes... not sure we can count his debut.

But hey it’s been such a “success” the VFL may do it all again next year! And this time, it could be a super duper Melbourne hub! Won’t that be something 🤣

Feel sorry for Kelly. No 1 mid now with no one around him.

He's going to get smashed
He needs to show us why we chased him so hard and why we paid what we did for him. Step up and carry us over these last 2 games before he gets some of his mates back.

For Hurn? If Petch is not ready, Jetts keeps in spot. We are playing too many defenders anyway.

You are dropping Jetta and bringing an untried player (Brayshaw) in. We can get Hurn and Cameron (or Petch if he is ready) in for the two injured players. As FKASC said we have enough players already in the team who can go through the middle.

We need a dedicated extractor no matter how slow they are . Brayshaw to come in and play at the coal face . Unless you want to play ainsworth inside

Cameron I feel is being managed due to his earlier season groin issues

Out: Redden, Hutch (both cooked), Shep (rested), O'Neil, Allen (both looked to be struggling), Hickey (dropped)

In: Petch, Cameron, Hurn, Brayshaw, Williams, NN

Hurn, Barrass, Cole
Rotham, Gov, Jetta
Nelson, Kelly, Gaff
Ryan, Darling, Petch
Cameron, JK, Waterman

NN, Duggan, Sheed

Brayshaw, Williams, Ah Chee, Ainsworth

People underestimate how unfair our compressed fixture is coming right before the finals. Its the most important factor in the season. We'll end up trying to bring half a dozen players back from injury for finals whereas the sides who copped it mid year are cruising with 9 day breaks and easing their squads to full fitness.

The whole season was f*cked when they decided to come back. It wouldn’t have mattered which way we did it because if we didn’t come home when we did the season would have been over months ago and the end of the season condensed fixture speaks for itself. The only thing that was going to stop us was injuries to our starting midfield.. and we’ve nearly lost the whole lot of them. Geelong should be favourites because they were able to negotiate their hub well and now have the healthiest list and nice upcoming breaks to ease into finals.
