Given the outs the changes make sense and I fail to understand why anyone would be upset by them

Nelson was in reasonable form as a lockdown small defender and was arguably unlucky to be squeezed out to make way for Jetta. Jettas injured again so nelson comes back in after having freshen up as the emergency last week

I'm sure Watson might have been considered but his disposal isn't consistent enough for him to be a like for like replacement for Jetta and he isn't as good as nelson in a lockdown role. So nelsons selection is justified

Sheed is a relatively strong midfield body so hutchings makes sense as his replacement based on strong WAFL form. That change doesn't make us slower and maintains a strong presence over the ball against ports bigger midfielders.

Ainsworth the other player that could have come in but his form is not quite as good as hutch, he wouldn't give us any extra speed and we'd be done a mature body at the coalface. So as with nelson, hutchings is the right choice

I'm glad that they've stuck with petrucelle even though he had a quiet game. The young blokes need to be given a bank of games to find their feet rather than in one week, out the next (On a side note this may also be a reason why hutch was chosen over bubba - if sheed is expected to only miss a week then better an experienced player like hutch to be used a temporary replacement rather than a youngster like Ainsworth)

Every other player from the derby deserved to keep their spot

Masten was a player that was terrible under pressure but we have managed to utilize his strengths and is having a pretty good year. Nelson has some good traits and is young enough to turn things around all is not lost with Nelson!
exactly, just look at masten, redden, duggan , sheed, lecras, darling, the list is endless..all had their share of knockers, some deservedly perhaps, but all coming good......................................and lets not forget Priddis? (hmm)
Nelson should be given some grace till he hits the 50 game marker (if he hasn't hit that yet?), then the jury is out..if a player is half good you back them in to improve, if they're god-awful then law of the jungle relegates them to a life in the Wafl...or the dustbin of footy history.
The ins were correct, both are tough nuts, with degrees of experience and suited to the role..
As much as I'd like to see Archie and Watson, they have to be match-ready, especially if they have no prior Afl experience.
Also glad to see Petrol remains, need to back them in with a run of games..
Anyone know the deal with Murtimer? injured, slow, out of favour?

Don't mind the changes, glad to see Pet backed in for another week. Hutch was a no brainer after the game he had last week plus Sheed out.

Personally would've preferred Watson given a shot over Nelson, but interested to see if Nelson gets a more attacking role this week and how he goes. He took the game on a fair bit more in games last year and actually looked like he could be damaging at times.

Only time i see Anus and Parto coming in for a mid, is if we play an average side. We don't bat too deep in the midfield and i doubt simmo wants to test the depth against a decent team.

Nelson will take a lockdown role. He seems to do that well. Cole will probs get an attacking role as he has a natural flair about him and can be damaging rebounding off half back.

That said, he is slow as ****.

Good God I hope not..... depth at best in the "Break Glass In Case Of Emergency" .... category.

Hutch just doesn't have the necessary awareness to play AFL..... terrific WAFL player , no more , no less.
How about now?
