Does Koch even get to make the decision anymore, or does the football committee?
On one side you have a guy like Chewy who says Koch is a smart man but doesn't know much about football operations and for 12 years, he' naively listened to Chris Davies and that's why we are a mess of a club.

Or you can go down the Lockhart Road way and it is the idea that Kochless is a petty tyrant who stacks the board with yes men and idiots.

Mine is that Koch is an AFL puppet and is looking to get a cushy job at the AFL Monorail and doesn't really care about the Port Adelaide Football Club and its traditions.

He was criticized by Nathan Brown on the Sunday Footy show for going long down the line a couple of times in those last five minutes. If it was a player with a better kick I'd agree, but I'd have been much more nervous about Sav trying to pick out a Port player across goal in those moments than going down the line. He ate up plenty of clock and the whole team knew the mission was to get players to the fall of the ball and lock it up or force a throw in. Its probably the best decision given the circumstances. If its Houston or Farrel or one of our better 'quarterbacks' I think it's fair, but I think for Sav it was the safest option.
That's a really good point. I was peeved on the night that he didn't try for a safe short kick to waste another 20 seconds but now that you've reminded me he has a tendency to kick across the goal square directly to an opponent I think the long down to the boundary the best thing.

Farrell far from a certainty to play. If he does it would quite possibly be the quickest return from a hamstring tendon injury in the history of the Club.
Any update on Burton, and how committed we are to playing Dixon?

Burton for Lorenz
Dixon for Marshall

would seem the most obvious changes, but Dixon worries me immensely. He was good the last time we played Sydney because he moved so well and handled the footy cleanly below his knees. I doubt we get that again

Not too sure on Burton.

Would be surprised if Dixon didn't come in for Marshall.

You sure it just wasn't a standard strain? 4 weeks is the right amount of time there.

I was told tonight that it was a hamstring tendon injury. Typical timeframes for those are anywhere from 8-12 weeks, 6 is you're absolutely flying with rehab.
