Niether of these guys did much defending. It's their attack we'll miss, not their defending.

Interestingly, this is also why someone like Burton performed better than people had suspected he would, his role with Dan out probably meant he wasnt going to be in the situations he has had difficulties with as much.

Is there any reason why Todd couldn’t play tagger on Stewart instead of Jed?
Has the tank and size and can actually hurt him the other way.

Because Todd is a physically weak player who will be bullied and dominated by Stewart whereas Jed is a disciplined role player who can stick to task and basically just annoy the shit out of Stewart all night?

Never has or never will a mid season draft pick get as much attention as our Jed😂.
Because never before has such a limited and ineffective player been given 45 games and counting in a strong side. If he'd just been left in the SANFL to rot and delisted like every other player of his ability level, he wouldn't be getting all this attention.

Left to rot sounds a bit nasty 😂.
It’s not his fault he gets picked, he’s trying to make a living like everyone else.

Surely not. You're not genuinely trying to take credit on Jed's behalf for that one, are you?

And he'd deserve about as much credit for doing so as he does for his goal on the weekend.
Jed did lay a suburb tackle in the first which should have been HTB 30 out dead in front.

If only Boyd Woodcock was drafted mid season. The disgusting abuse he copped from the stands was embarrassing.

Wonder if Scott will bring Oisin Mullin in, who tagged Jason Horne-Francis after he ran amok in the first half of the game at Kardinia Park this year.

He hasn't played since round 16.

Good call. Scott was quite smug post game when asked about that coaching move. Almost as if he thought he found the way to stop JHF down the track.

JHF is spending a lot more time forward now though which makes him so much harder to tag. And the beauty is that Port's midfield runs deep enough such that JHF can play out of the goal square and they don't exactly lose much elsewhere.

Thing is, last time Port played Cats and they decided to tag Hornet, they didn't have Rozee playing. So question for other coaches is, if all 3 are playing who do they tag? And question for Port then is, if one is tagged whi steps up and takes the heat? Since the earlier part of the season.. basically until the Lions match, Port has been fiddling and trialling the midfield set up where Butters, rozee and JHF were going in there together and more frequently and with Wines and Drew less. Now though there is a more healthy balance. As long as those 3 in particular are coached so that if one gets tagged the others take over and they all rotate around etc then should be good. Similar to allowing JHF to float around in the Melbourne game. If he's tagged then rozee or Butters can float if need be. Will be interesting. They didn't have Danger that game. So will see how it all pans out and Visentini showed Stanley how to ruck and owned him so I'd assume sweety will own Stanley too

So can bring the morale of whole team down with insipid efforts and can easily be pushed around the ground . The ball also fly down easily to our end from post to post .

What raises morale is score involvements and goal assists. The players would be delighted to have a marking tall leading into space instead of standing still in transition.

What if Georgiades goes down, and we have another game like we did against Melbourne where our ball movement disintegrates. If Esava is a good break glass in case of emergency player, pick him as the sub.
Pick Todd as sub. He might make it through the game unscathed.

The Hornet is playing half forward and then stoppages. He will be very difficult to tag.
