If all pass the fitness test I’d be going with the following

In: Naughton, Darcy, Harmes, Coffield, Garcia
Out: Lobb, Scott, Macrae, Buku, Daniel

Sub: Garcia/ Gallagher/ Sanders
Feels like Harmes and Coffield have been too long out to come straight back in. Mind you playing with the team V north probably makes as much sense. Buuuut knowing us we lose to north then win the rest.

I think Buku and Lobb can make a case that they hold their spots.

If Buss isn't quite ready yet perhaps we just back Buku in to keep improving.

Darcy is the one that definitely comes straight back in. If Lobb stays, do we give Timmy an extra week off .... or make him sub?

I'd be inclined to take no chances with Naughts or Harmes. But if they're in the mix, along with Darcy, then the outs come from Daniel, Scott, Gags, Sanders, Macrae and Lobb (but I think Lobb stays...after that game....for the time being)

We need to be getting games into Sanders over Macrae. Especially considering there isn’t much difference in output between the two.

But there is a lot of difference in vision, composure and decision making ... and kick penetration. There's a balance to be struck with Sanders. At the moment he's playing a role for the team, probably within some pretty defined parameters. But if winning games is important in the now, and it is imo now that we've reached parity, then he's right on the edge of selection every week. No guarantee.

MacRae has better hands and uses the ball better laterally for mine. I would prefer Jack with ball in hand during clutch moments.

Jack doesn’t get caught holding the ball. Sanders will get there, but not yet.

The handouts form over the past three weeks only seems decent because of what a rabble they’ve been. They only beat West Coast due to their horrible goal kicking, Collingwood were asleep for a half heading into their bye and then managed to kick 119 from only 48 inside 50s and they couldn’t beat Melbourne who right now are as bad as any team in the comp.

If we are serious, we should account for them easily, but we can often fall asleep in some of these games ourselves so we need to be on.

North look dangerous when they are allowed to take the game on, so our pressure needs to be up. Their midfield looks very good and if we just break even it should go a long way to winning. LDU is a top liner in this sort of form and Xerri is very physical which might trouble English. Sheezel and Wardlaw are very good too. Simpkin is a pretty good half forward coming into the midfield as well.
Was impressed by some of the lesser known players as well. Archer completely dominated Fritsch and I'm guessing he will take Weightmen. Phillips tagged Oliver and had the better of him, not sure who he goes to against us. Bont might be too much for him size wise, Treloar or Libba might be a more suitable option for him.

They have some very ordinary players at the same time though and the side looks unbalanced to me. Seem to lack genuine leg speed in the front half, so our half backs should really be able to exit easily (which Melbourne did on occasions) and our tall forwards should be far too good for their key backs.

Not worried about this one. We've sustained form and a game style over 7 weeks that will account for north. They've improved so not expecting a belting though.

Darcy in. Naughton will need another week.

When would the main open training likely be this week? Flying down from the Gold Coast for work / the game.

LDU plays game #100 too. They'll be extra motivated for that.
Really? Half the list wouldn’t have played 20 games with him.

North were down 40 to a horrible Dees side, this is no danger game, we should be winning by 30+.

Norf are also probably the best team in the league if you add their first half performance v Collingwood to their second half performance v Melbourne.

See what I did there? You can spin it any way you like to suit whatever angle you wish to explore.

North have looked pretty decent when they have got the game on their terms.

I've been very buoyed by how we've played since the Hawthorn game, bar the mulligan against Brisbane when we were awful. We bring that cohesion and energy and I can't see this game being close. They're defense is quite dodgy so if we can get on top of that midfield battle we should kick a cricket score.
