Sheppard gets his opportunity in a big test , the Shuey suspension appears so bad !!

We have a chance , Geelong are not the team they were 2-3 years ago . If WCE are any good we gotta match them to half-time , this is my hope !

We have made it not even 3 weeks into the season and our injury list is growing.

How is it that some serious questions are not being asked of medical staff or how the playing group play the game.

It has been the same for several years. Getting seriously pissed with all the outs

Lecra broke his arm in a game so he was pretty unlucky there

Masten got a massive corky from another player that was mild hammy strain.

Glass is just management has been happining over the last 3 years.

Hurn copped a knock to knee.

Waters is broken by default.

All that can not be blamed on the medical staff.

Sack woosha?

Our outs are from a variety of unrelated causes. Not a systemic issue with player management. The only recurring issue appears to be general soreness from going hard. Of all the medical issues to have, thats probably the best.

Was he? He came back on for a fair while I thought. I remember commenting to my mate that it was a strange thing to do.
He was subbed at quarter time. Only came back on for like five minutes.

All we need to NOT do for this game is play like Brisbane played in the first preseason game. My big fear is that we'll have a terrible 1st quarter and then even if we hold it together or come back a bit over the rest of the game it will still be nowhere near enough plus we'll know we only came close because Geelong let us.

Would much prefer to see us keep it even for even just the first half and then fall away than see the above occur. Oh, and most of all, no injuries.

PS - I agree with those saying Naitanui a late out. He won't be that valuable in the wet and Cox and Lycett will do enough in the ruck. Bring in the Honey Badger, if there was ever a game where we needed his attributes it's playing against Geelong at SS in the wet. Even if he doesn't do much, he'll do more than Naitanui, plus Naitanui looks like he could use a rest already.

I agree with all your other points, but I think a case can be made that Lecras' arm injury has not been managed well since the outset. He came back way too early imo from the initial break last year and it clearly limited him. Also, the way it fractured again quite easily the second time leads one to believe that there were some issues with how it had healed.

The boy obviously doesn't drink enough milk.

Doesn't NN go alright in the wet? I am struggling to think of the wet games he's played but the one that immediately comes to mind was at home against the Hawks in ~2009.

Still, NN as a late out is a possibility given our height. I don't know why they would make him travel though. A big man late out is something we are far more likely to do at home I think.

I think it will be a miracle if we win. We can't have that many outs and break a decade long hoodoo at Simmonds against a potential top 4 side. If we can keep it under 4 goals ill be happy, and get through it injury free ready to knock off port next week. We are going to lose a few this year, every side will, so losing to Geelong in Geelong ain't nothing to be ashamed of

We went in with a young team against Sydney in the preseason. Geelong don't look like world beaters - anything can happen.

Yep, and until the players learn that if anything is to happen, then it is up to them no matter who is on the team, then nothing will happen. Cuz was the epitome of changing a games outcome by hard work and will. Our current players could learn a lot from watching some of his games.
