WHERE’S SIMMO HIDING?
On the day North Melbourne axed David Noble, former Roos skipper now Eagles coach Adam Simpson was nowhere to be seen at training.
The club said Simpson was watching on from the balcony at Mineral Resources Park, despite not being spotted for the entire 90-minute session.
Simpson played more than 300 games for the Kangaroos but says he has no interest in the Roos top job.

In case there was any doubt that The West had become a complete piece of clickbait trash.

Out: Petch (inj), Kennedy (managed), Rioli (bereavement), Trew (to sub)
In: O’Neill, Winder, Clark, Culley

Backs: Edwards, Barrass, Bazzo, Hurn, Duggan, Jones, SPS
Mids: Kelly, Redden, O’Neill, Shuey, Gaff, Hough
Rucks: Naitanui, Williams
Forwards: Darling, Waterman, Ryan, Foley, Winder, Clark, Culley
Sub: Trew
Emergencies: Nelson (travelling), Rotham, Naish

Running out of forwards, so Ryan survives. Don’t know what’s going on with him. He’s done alright when asked to play tall so Kennedy missing will hopefully help him rediscover some form.

Winder gets a last chance. Foley gets another opportunity in the Cripps role as I’m assuming he won’t be available. Debut for Culley, he and Clark can spell the midfielders.

O’Neill straight swap for Trew who can be the sub.

Won’t be many left in the Beagles.

Without Kennedy, Rioli, Cripps and Allen this week, our forward line looks very undermanned. Would we contemplate Jones forward again?

It's a bit of a head-scratcher at this point that we'd send Nic out sore when our season's beyond cooked - risks making him worse (which has happened), but also deprives us of a free hit at giving Jamieson more time to find his feet at the level (which may never happen, but we lost by 10 goals with Nic regardless). We're surely at a point where anyone remotely near the best 22 gets rested if they're not right - can only assume Nic was adamant he was right to play though whatever it was.

I’d prefer to see Jones remain in defence for remainder of the season.

While he has made a few clangers - he is demonstrating speed and kicking skills and a preparedness to take the game on. Clearly something we need more of.

Give him time to settle in and learn the limits of his capacity as part of his ongoing development. Season is dead rubbers from now on anyway.

For same reason I’d like to see Trew go around again.

As for forwards - hmmmm Cripps (doubtful due to Covid) - maybe Winder (not convinced).

Kelly (?) and free up a spot for XON & Trew is probably the way I’d go.

Kicking skills?
Must have missed that. I have never seen anyone with such a short and sure hand to boot drop miskick so many.

Symbolises all thats wrong with the club. Takes short cuts with his training and fitness level, shortcuts allowed for him on a training camp, never mentioned for poor performances by media or club, misses weeks for suspension, half puts in for a wafl game and credits gets him back in the side.
Alls ok as long as they can get a snap of a trick shot before a game or during training while his goal kicking has gone to garbage and he can go and stand around at a coin toss once and a while so we can tick community off again..

At the start of next pre season it should be this is what everyone is doing, if you cant complete it you aren’t playing until you do and that goes from player 1 on the list to player 42.. see how fit these guys get then.

Agree.
Other small forwards are throwing themselves all game and Liam is out making friends and cracking jokes.

Good for Williams. Forces him to keep the number 1 ruck spot.

Don’t you mean forces us to give the number one ruck spot to him because even though he is as useless as all heck our poor list management and pandering to the current unfit number 1 ruck has left us without an experienced viable alternative.
