Not unreasonable, but Anthony has never really produced a noticable better output then Bradley.

He has also never been given much of a chance to get started. He needs a good 4-5 games in a row in the same position to prove if he is up to it or not.
On the marking side of things I think tha tit is time to acknowledge that the failure to draft Darling has hurt us in this most crucial area.
Pitt is never going to be as useful to us as what Darling would have been.:(

Yeah, but I see it as a last year problem. Should have been played, when we were short on talls. Had he proven himself , he might be chosen before Keplar now. But no real way to play him with Pav, Clarke and Keplar in the forwardline...

Agree to this in the long term, even tought it might have increase the above problem in the short term...

Yeh I'm sure his wopping 1 goal a game average against 3rd talls in a very high scoring side has left our recruiters blushing and we would of won on the weekend if he was in our side. We criticise Mayne for not kicking goals, yet they both get the same numbers.

He doesn't impact results much now, and we have plans for a descent forward in the future.

Taco are you saying that he does not contribute more assists as well around the ground and provide outstanding forward pressure ? If it came down just to goals kicked what is DeBoer doing there?

By the way, how many goals is Pitt averaging for us in his time? By the way when you have a forward option that is averaging 5 marks a game you need to defend this option. Darling averaged over a goal a game in 2011 and has 5 goals from 2 games and an outstanding tackle count.

By the way Taco, there is not an expert in the country that doesn't recognize that Darling should have gone top 3 in hindsight. Nobody is mentioning Pitt. By the way, where does Fremantle have a deficiency at the moment? It certainly seems to me that having a young, strong, tall marking forward option who creates and tackles like a tiger ( a real one, not a Richmond player ) would we rather have that than a fringe player who may be good one day?

Looking forward to your thoughts Taco.

I'm not saying Lower should be playing or that Mundy shouldn't or vise versa but just to correct you, Lower would've done the miles too. He's been suspended not injured.

what David said plus he is an elite A grade player which is a significant difference to Nick Lower.

That is the pertinent point of my post.
If they both have achieved the same fitness level, one is still a far better footballer than the other...... Yes ?

Anthony should never have been selected last week. Kepler is a much better choice out of the two. He might not be much of a contested mark, but neither is JA. It is important to consider that Kepler can roam further up the ground, pinch hit in the ruck, etc. And he has proven he can kick multiple goals at Subiaco.

Kep gets completely smashed when he Pinch hits in the ruck.

It is a total nonsense to say he goes ok in the ruck. The Hawthorn game at the MCG last year is a haunting nightmare for Ruck purists.

Bradley did not win one single ruck contest when Harvey put him in the ruck in the last qtr, ostensibly to get him into the game.
That cost us the game from 28 points up 7 minutes into the last qtr.
He can't ruck.

Jeez he(darling)would be more than handy for us right now.

Barlow and Crowley are as tall as Darling..

Mundy is actually taller, by the way.

These things are well known. So is Kepler, so is JA so is Zac Clarke and Silvagni is as tall as him. So what? Who would you rather have as a third tall option in our forward line in the 2012 season? Darling or any of the above, who make up our second and third best tall options.

Let’s face it; it is Pav and then DAYLIGHT between him and our next best forward with NOTHING coming up through our ranks.

Darling a STILL 19 year old kid/man and as we have seen with Fyfe, not all of the old measurements are 100% accurate. Also, when you watch the Weagles play. Honestly, do you think that Darling is a little bigger than the 87kgs and 191cm that he is listed as? This guy is outplaying and out bodying his opponents as a 19 year old. What is he going to be like when he is 25?

It sounds like you are saying that Darling is not tall enough to be a viable forward option in his second year. Bizarre. He kicks goals and in his first year kicked as much as our LEADING goal kicker for the 2011 season. Not to mention being a tremendous exponent of forward pressure and creating turnovers as well as goal assists.

By mentioning the height of Mundy and Barlow, I take it that you want to move them out of the midfield and into the forward line as a tall option? Pav is 192cm (our best goal kicker in our history) and does that mean that you are saying that a 191cm player is not going to be requiring a tall strong defender? Your comment is irrelevant Taylor.

I don't disagree with your comments about Darling but I thought Clarke has looked pretty bloody good as a tall forward option that's coming through. I could see Mora and Fyfe playing as tall forwards too if we had suitable class in the midfield to cover them. (And yes, I'm aware Fyfe isn't a tall according to the measuring tape, but he does play tall.)

Just curious, why isn't there a preview up already for this game? It's tomorrow, or don't you blokes do previews? lol

Don't tell us how to run our board :p

Our changes thread and preview part is pretty much the same thread, sometimes it even features the game day aspect of it too! It's all vaguely incorporated.
