The difference is , David Mundy has got the miles into his legs.

His own words; "I've spent the last two weeks doing gruelling miles to simulate a game day . Hard 16km runs which is about the ground covered in a match."

I've paraphrased a bit but that's what David said plus he is an elite A grade player which is a significant difference to Nick Lower.
Nick is a ball magnet no doubt about it and will play this year but with Mora still to return and Barlow building to full game time , Nick's probably going to be utilised in managing the season workload of key players.

That's pretty much how i see Grover and Jon Griffin's involvement this year also.

Can't believe Ross Lyon is not playing Silvagni. Does he feel obliged to play Zac Dawson? No offence to Zac, he's handy but I believe Silvagni is in your best 22 without a doubt.

Not sure about this one Ross. Next thing you know you'll send Adam McPhee to run with Goodes.

Can't really argue with the team selection. Although Lower has done a lot more pre-season training then Mundy and I'm pretty sure he joined Mundy in the long match simulation on the weekend. His WAFL team will get a handy inclusion.

Not enough team players at Freo at the moment, to many young talented individuals trying to dominate DT rather than do the 1% IMO.
Be good to see Mundy back he's a great team player.
Hope Freo smash Brizi in saying that.

Haha!! Oh the ironing. Have you not watched our two games?

We have the most unselfish players who just want to pass the ball off and not have a shot for goal.

I'm not saying Lower should be playing or that Mundy shouldn't or vise versa but just to correct you, Lower would've done the miles too. He's been suspended not injured.

Can't believe Anthony is out if not injured. Ross' been talking him up the whole time. He is integral etc. Gets a game at the SCG which isn't really a game of AFL, they play a different game there (and so should we). Then gets the arse in a a game where the ball will will come in better and he can show what he can do and clunk a few. They've said he's a confidence player and dropping him after one where the next game is where he can prove his worth is silly. That is, unless they've decided to go in a different direction.

My problem is the mouth says one thing and the actions show a different thing. Jack's gone. (unless he is secretly injured)

To many talls.

It's pretty simple, we beat Geelong, with 13 less inside fifties, without Jack in the forward line, the next week we lose to Sydney, despite the fact we had 80% more inside fifties in the second half, with Jack in the forward line. The pieces of the puzzle will be falling into place all year, when troubleshooting you always eliminate the most obvious causes first.

Can't believe Anthony is out again. He seems to be included for games that are never going to suit him. What was the point in playing him at the SCG and the dropping him the next week when he can show us once and for all if he can be a player for us.

Bradley has not looked like taking a contested grab or even a mark on the lead so far this year. His two goals this year have been given to him in the square. He would have to be the worst key forward in the comp. It was bearable while he was required to pinch hit in the ruck but now it is just a joke.

This on top of the Sivagni debacle. Thought Lyon would be better than this.

SCNOS is developing his offensive side while we have the luxury of having a surfeit of defenders. Ross wants to turn him into a Brian Lake type of player by the sounds of it, which is fine with me.

Bradley does a lot of off the ball work and creates goals, maybe that puts him ahead of Anthony, who tries hard but hasn't looked natural at anything this year so far. Let him find his kicking boots in the WAFL because he doesn't seem to have recovered them from Collingwood yet.

Bradley might do work off the ball etc and he is better at ground level but at the end of the day I want someone who can lead mark and kick a goal. Bradley does not seem to be able to get even a foot break on his opponents when he takes off on a lead.

And on Silvagni, I dont mind if he is work in progress forward but I would play him ahead of both Anthony and Bradley as a forward already. Just get him on the park I say.

yeah, but neither bradley nor anthony are any good at contested marking. for every mark that jack's taken, he's dropped three. we're really poor in this area and i don't know that there's much we can do about it this year other than getting those two to develop that side of their games. for the time being, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. hopefully clarke keeps taking marks because he's as good a second tall as we've got at the moment.

from what ross said today or yesterday, it sounds like we're not really turning silvagni into a forward, just developing that side of him, so it's pointless playing him in the AFL as a forward as the plan is to eventually play him back. who really knows what the **** is going on with silvagni, but apparently there's a mid-term plan in development. i was kinda hoping that he would be turned into a forward, one for the aforementioned reasons and two because i think he could be good at it.

Big Kep will play a blinder this weekend!
The man is a genius and is most likely our best forward and probably our best ever recruit. Kep at FF any day of the week!!

Reckon we have a troll in our ranks.

Bradley was excellent in the third last week.

Part of the reason we got back into it.

Anthony should never have been selected last week. Kepler is a much better choice out of the two. He might not be much of a contested mark, but neither is JA. It is important to consider that Kepler can roam further up the ground, pinch hit in the ruck, etc. And he has proven he can kick multiple goals at Subiaco.

one thing is for sure, i'm hoping we slaughter those clowns to rid me of this shitful aftertaste picked up from the preseason shenanigans.

Not unreasonable, but Anthony has never really produced a noticable better output then Bradley.
