So from our best 22, with everyone fit and in form, is missing Pittard, Ryder, Rockliff and SPP. Not ideal for only round 5.

Still I'm just glad we've brought in Hombsch so Howard can ruck without compromising the backlines completely. Of course having a ruck in so Howard is back would be better, but at least it's an improvement on the last two weeks. No SPP and no Rockliff has us light on for inside mids, Geelong's strength.

Still if we have Howard rucking most of the game, with Marshall getting up, then our three tall forward line should stretch Geelong's injury plagued defense enough to get us over the line.

Quality post. This is why either Atley in or Johnson/Thomas to allow Wingard and R.Gray to go into the middle.

Would have liked to see Hombsch start instead of Clurey. Of course that is still possible, the 22 players rarely all start where they are named. Although I would have also liked to see Pittard come in for Amon. Sure he had no pre-season but the one SANFL game I saw showed enough of his running form.

I wouldn't have him in defence but taking Amon's place in the midfield. I know it'll never happen but there's no reason that I can't hope. Plenty of half-backs like Broadbent, Burgoyne and Suckling have been moved into the midfield.

He's the best small forward/forward flanker option from the SANFL we have.

Thomas is kicking goals but has question marks over his fitness, Johnson doesn't impact games often enough, Farrell has been solid but it's probably too early to throw him in.

We have Gray. Wines. Ebert. No shortage of contested ball winners. We will be fine.
