I doubt Otten will be out, he played for about 3-5 minutes after suffering the knock. He was probably taken off to ensure it didn't get any worse. I'm expecting him to play.

Edwards for Martin might be the only change, but surely Walker has to come in? I'd like to see Davis too, and if Otten does indeed miss he'll replace him.

Anyone who gets a corky will play for the next 5 or so minutes before it becomes unbearable. Not really a great indicator.

However, odds are AFL clubs are better corky recoverers than you're average park footy battler;)

However, based on how little the club has speculated on him missing I'd assume he'd be ready to play.

Andrew Mackie @ 193-194cm held Buddy to 1 goal in the 2nd half on Saturday and was critical to us winning with Taylor & Scarlett out.

Otherwise I would have thought that we could afford to play a bit smaller down back this week as you guys don't have big power forwards like a Hawthorn or Brisbane. Harley will also more than likely play this week and stregthen the backline...

Anyone else finding this attitude odd? Or is the fact that Tippett is only into his second season and hasn't had enough time on the weights that big a factor? He is 5/6 cms taller than Brown and Buddy, and at the end of last season, when the Guides were published, he was listed as only 4Kgms lighter than Brown, and only 1 lighter than Buddy.

When is he going to qualify as a power forward? Stevens and Walker are hardly small forwards, and then we rest Maric and Sellar up front sometimes. Is the Geelong board right to dismiss our forwards like this - are we over-estimating, or haven't the other teams caught up with the new look yet? Or a combination of both?

Just how good is our forward line? I was thinking pretty damn good myself, and I was starting to think of Tippett in the same sort of category as Brown, Buddy and Roughhead.

Tippett's not there yet. Give him another 2 pre-seasons in the gym and he'll qualify as a power forward. For now, he's a tall forward who is still growing into the role.

Aside from Tippett, most of them aren't exactly "power" forwards. Most of them are mid-sized - Burton, Porplzyia, Dangermouse, Walker, Knights.

Sellar's big enough to qualify as a power forward, but he's done nothing to justify the application of the term. Maric will always be just a "resting ruckman", he's never going to be a primary forward.

You're getting well ahead of yourself there. Give him a couple more years and he'll belong in this company, but he's not there yet.

True but often if they're quite serious they limp off immediately. Point if he played for a while after and looked okay. :thumbsu:
