Maybe our forward structure could work really well with 2 genuine talls and lynch as a medium. We're married to it because of pods, if he's injured it will be straight out the window. He was basically passable again today. But that's about all we get from him.
You could well be right but i like how Pods is the guy who stands under the long ball as a 'get out' option and he's also very smart at going back to defence when required.

Yeah nah you guys need to give it a rest. 20 touches and 3 goals is better than passable. And substantially better than our other key forward out there......

So maybe drop tex for smack. Maintains the structure and pushes the weak link down to the 2's.

this is the answer. has been kicking goals galore in the 2s.

31 year old averaging 14 disposals this year, 2 more than smack last year. But look, pods is a developing tall, smack peaked in 2013, so structuring up around him makes sense. Pods is average, is stunting our development and we'd be a better side if we ran an extra midfielder out of his position.

Can't see Rutten getting up for the Hawks, the 6 day break seems to work against concussed players

Talia is such a professional and will be right to go IMO and Danger has been playing hurt all year

On the positive we have M Crouch, Grigg, Hartigan and LT all champing at the bit for an opportunity

Rutten Out

Thompson In

Crouch possibly in depending on what the coaching panel think of Laird's game. Can't see anyone else being dropped, only injury would force someone out and we won't know the extent of most injuries until Sunday/Monday.

I reckon we swap Pods out for Cameron when he's back up and running

I think Hawthorn have obvious holes in their mids after watching last night's game, with Sewell out and possibly Hill our mids should dominate depending on our injuries. And our forward line should be better than their defence.

Key players for them(discounting forwards):

Hodge
Smith
Mitchell
Birchall

Lock down on Birch and Smith I think, then they should really struggle.

If Lake does get suspended, it is a great opportunity for us to stretch their defense with Jenkins, Pods, Lynch, and Walker all up there.
If???

Think it will be 'WHEN', I'll be surprised if he doesn't get 2 or 3 weeks given his poor record at the tribunal!

Nah he'll get off. He only tried to choke him to death, no concussion, no blood, Petrie played out the game...nothing to see here. ;)

Would like to see Bob get a game...I mean what else does the guy have to do? 42 and 35 the week before? If Thommo's leg is as bruised as they say, then rest him. We need all players as close to full fitness as we can.

This was the week that Danger needed to rest...he'll be like the Black Knight off Monty Python...oh my arm just fell off, I'll be right to play next week. Will someone just sedate him after telling him to have a week off. He's broken his C curse, now have a rest.

Think Truck rests this week and LT comes in. Could see him playing on mummy's boy.

as much as martin has been good we need kerridge in to tag one of hawthorns gun mids for someone.. possibly l.thompson vs gunston hence coming in for truck. hopefully s.thompson gets up coz we need him otherwise obvious replacement is matt crouch. i would say matt crouch in for someone regardless but not sure who

Its a game not many would expect us to win. The Showdown win means this is kinda a 'free hit' situation. Win and we are the real deal, lose and its not the end of the world. They will be hit by injuries and suspension too.

You're delusional....we get no 'free hits'....look at the ladder and the draw that Gold Coast and Essendon have....our draw is harder...there are no free hits that is just a silly comment

Calls fior Pods to be dropped again...kicked 3 goals this week.....who do they drop him for? the forward set up seems to be working ok...just kicked 20 goals after all and kicked enough goals to beat Port the previous week but yeah lets change things now we're winning.....sigh

How is our draw harder than Essendons? We both play a top 4 side (us Hawthorn, them Sydney), plus we both play 2 sides we are fighting for top 8 spots with in Collingwood/kangaroos for us, Collingwood/Gold Coast for them, the rest are irrelevant sides below us. Pretty bloody even runs IMO.

Collingwood have the tough draw, playing Hawthorn, Port, Adelaide, Essendon and West Coast in WA.

Kangaroos and Gold Coast have the relatively easy run here on in with only 1x top 5 team each and 1x 6-10 team each.

Our draw is ok - Hawks in Adelaide, Collingwood and North away (all winnable) and then we have 4 games we should win (three at home and one in Brisbane). We should be 12 wins and win next week then we are odds on to make it.

Personally I reckon we will win 14.

Is it time to give Tex a week ?? Hasn't been quite his normal self for a few weeks and looks a bit lost. Big call I know as the structure is ok. Might be a good time for Thommo to have a week off. Crouch or Lyons in, probably Crouch as he will at least play midfield.

We need to be much better in centre clearances so maybe both ??

OUT

Truck
Thommo
Tex

IN

LThommo
Crouch
Lyons
Do u even want to win this game?
