Would love to see that, Gov at FB, Barrass at CHB, Schoey 3rd/mobile tall.
Similar setup as ~2010-12 (Glass, Emac, Schoey), worked well until it became too tall with the addition of Brown in 2013.
2 exceptional marks and a good spoiler... Wheres that randy Marsh picture

You have to work within the reality of the situation. If Hill is injured and needs a rest (I hope he doesn't because he' our best option) you then have a choice of; 1) Lamb - a very inexperienced tall player who's hardly like for like and would have a huge challenge manning up on the Hawks hardened defenders (at risk of becoming a stringboard out of our attack/ benefit of pinching a couple of marks and slotting them), 2) Newman who has shown nothing, absolutely nothing for weeks, high risk is he shows even less at AFL level and 3) McGinnity who looks to be in form, is as tough as nails and has shown he can at least halve a position even under high finals lite pressure. Risk is he doesn't impact the game/ payoff if he puts in a huge defensive game, knocks a few Hawks on their arses and locks the ball in our forwardline. I guess the other option is Lycett...
Given we are playing the antisocial Hawks, you need to ask who would cope best playing on Mitchell. Lewis or Hodge. Given that and the weather prospects, McSpud on form is not such a bad option. All depends on how Simpson wants to structure it on Saturday.

It's a no to McGinnity from me.

Our style of play relies heavily upon everyone, bar the ruckmen, being able to reliably hit up a target by foot. McGinnity will either end up being a missing link in the chain (i.e. effectively ignored by the other guys as they won't want to kick it to him) which leads to bombing it/taking riskier options or, worse, just break the chain altogether when he does get it ala Selwood and Rosa.

Just running around tackling guys and pressuring won't be enough - the Hawks are too well drilled and skilled for that. We need to beat them at their own game - something not entirely impossible on our home deck - and McGinnity is cancer to that approach.

A lot of people seem to be backing Lamb hard. Ewe cannot be serious?! I don't think the MC will try to ram him back into the side against the Hawks. With his lack of experience in big games he will get fleeced - the experienced Hawks will just flock to him, and then he will be pretty sheepish for the rest of the year and we may need him at the back end, not have him put out to pasture and then before you know it, they will be docking his pay. I think some people have had the wool pulled over their eyes to be honest. He is one of those flashy "individual" players so even if he gets his hand on the footy he will just hogget. He just isn't vocal enough on the field - the silence of Lamb is concerning. His best is awesome, however then it's just a shear drop down to below average form. Give him time in to get some more meat on his bones or he will get slaughtered. Think Mark Crutchings is a better option.*

Sorry.

Sorry.
Never apologise,
it is good to see we are attracting Kiwi contributors

"I think Lamb is around here somewhere"
"I think there is a bit of Lamb in all of us"
"You might say we just cooked Lamb and am eating him right now....oh Ive said too much"

It's not the ideal game for him but I'd be happy for Lamb for play. We've got to get games into him and now is as good a time as any.

Scans on Sinclair came up OK , neither Sinclair or Masten trained yesterday so both might be under selection doubt depending on how they train today !

Lycett might need to come in .

In Lamb Butler Mcgovern if fit
Out Hill Slowsa Hutchings

The last few weeks have reminded me how useless Darling can be on key defenders, i think we need to play another true key forward it's a shame Mcinness is injured.

He has had 9 scoring shots in the past 2 weeks...

Fairly reasonable for a second tall I would have thought

And yet performing as well as most second talls off the back of a very interrupted pre-season.
Also I thought he was very good in the two games before the GC.

Was all over it early on against Sydney and gave a lot of chances to the deep forwards the week before that playing up the ground which were not converted.
