Thanks for the update. Vardy not even a choice, no real loss I guess.
Assuming that Allan stays forward .. Brooksby might come in to play 2nd fiddle to Hickey (who I'd also like to stay forward).

Cole was excellent a fortnight ago against South Fremantle. He was slowed down a bit by a very heavy knock to the jaw after a courageous effort in the back pocket. Next WAFL game he was rested.

Came in for Duggan against Collingwood and thought he was below his best. Hopefully he is better for the run and bounces back. To be honest I was looking at our rebounding backs in todays Beagles game to see who might be next in line because I was a bit concerned that Cole doesn’t give us enough D50 rebound and run. Thought Watson was the most likely looking with Rotham. But I doubt they would drop Cole again after just one game back.

Whilst on the subject of running defenders in the Beagles, IMO Mutimer has improved and has had a consistent year.

Smith is just not that great a football player imo, he runs all day but does no damage. I just don't see how you can have him and Masten in the same team.

No kidding. When you make Masten look like a contested beast, I don't care how many ks you've run.

And on that, I'm unsurprised but pleased with Masten the last couple weeks. Sometimes he needs a spell in the twos just to clear his head. He's played his role perfectly the last couple of weeks.

I love JK as much as we all do but how many goalless games does he need to have?

Yes because opposition coaches aren’t dumb enough to not at least send their second best defender to him (usually the best), and we’ve cottoned on to that with JK playing decoy most of the time allowing JD and Allen to exploit their matchups.

He’s 32 though. Can’t expect him to still be dominating like he used to.. but we also can’t just kick him to the curb. He wasn’t too bad 2 weeks ago so I’m prepared to give him a bit of leeway. Doesn’t help that he gets manhandled every week and is usually taking a 2v1 which opens it up for the rest of the forwards.

ii'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt but if we get 5 games in and he's still having no impact do we just keep persisting indefinitely or do we actually let waterman have a crack?
