Hey guys, sorry for the bother. I am taking my 2 boys over from Melbourne to the game, so any of you know the area the opposition fans sit? Or otherwise, the best spot to watch the game, first time to Optus want to make it special. Thanks!

Away cheer squad is usually behind the goals at the railway station end of the ground (the eastern end), there’s usually another pocket of opposition fans the next level up behind the goals at the western end. Not sure which block exactly but I’d guess around 328/329.

If you can’t get there, there’s not really a bad seat in the house. If you’re on the south east side you might end up looking into the sun a bit (if there is any on Sunday) so that might be somewhere to avoid.

Thanks heaps that's really helpful. Looking forward to seeing the stadium! One more question, is there a pub close to the ground supporters have a beer at for the atmosphere etc?

There’s the Camfield just outside but whenever I get there there’s always a massive line so I don’t bother. The Alby bar just inside the main entrance on the southern side is pretty good.

Go to the Camfield, it is literally across from the stadium so you can get from bar to your seats in 10min Max. Often the oppo supporter's clubs have a function on there before the game, so check to see if that's happening for North (I'd say it's likely as there are a lot of supporters in Perth from when they used to poach WAFL players in the VFL days).

Don't worry if there is a line out the front, it moves quickly so you're usually inside within 5 mins. Though crowds have been down this year, so most weeks it won't have one.

Camfield line moves quickly and Alby bar only serves mid strength if that is a concern.

Yes, they use paper cups now and it is a disaster for beer. The server can't see how much head is in it compared to liquid so often you end up with about a quarter empty cup.
Beats the gigantic amount of plastic wasted each game. Kegs into paper cups makes sense, they just need to sort the carb out so that it doesn’t foam too much.

Don't go to the Camfield. It's shithouse. Head to Bright Tank and walk over the bridge.

So much this. Camfield is a shitter of a venue IMO.

Hopefully in due course we will get some sort of Southbank style development between the stadium and back down the river towards Crown and there will be a lot more options. They need to plan to get the balance of open space/amenity right so it is an attractive location to spend time even when the stadium isn't firing for an event.

We should be able to buy/take reusables. The cardboard ones suck

Blasta Collective should be open any day now, and Fox Friday brewing are moving into their old Burswood venue, so there's two great spots for a beer within a train stop of Optus. Admittedly they are in an industrial type area, not water front.

Out: Shuey (curse), SPS (brainfart), Bazzo, Jilliams, O’Neill (from sub)

In: Yeo, Barrass, McGovern, Jamieson, Clark (sub)

Backs: Barrass, McGovern, Hurn, Duggan/Yeo, Witherden, Cole, Hough
Mids: Kelly, Yeo/Duggan, Sheed, Hewett, Gaff, Hunt
Rucks: Williams, Jamieson
Forwards: Allen, Darling, Maric, Petch, Long, Cripps, Chesser
Sub: Clark
Emergencies: Bazzo, O’Neill, Trew

Barrass straight swap for Bazzo. Gov in as well pushes Hunt up to a wing which pushes Chesser to a flank. Think they’ll leave Gaff in his old wing spot now he’s found a bit of form. Chesser and Petch to rotate through the middle.

Don’t think they’ll drop Sheed, it took a concerted media campaign to get them to make Gaff sub and we haven’t seen that for Sheed yet.

Jamieson in to provide extra ruck support against Xerri/Goldstein. JWilliams looked hurt late, even though he wasn’t mentioned in the injury report Tuesday.

Clark rewarded for strong WAFL form by getting to sit on the bench.
