Not a lot of rebound coming out of it though, I'd dump Smart for McLeod
Smart was awesome at rebounding in his own right. Remember he also played in the midfield.

I highly doubt the sub will be Cameron.

They were saying on the radio he's been picked for his defensive pressure alone. Sounds like they don't care about how many possessions he gets or how many goals he kicks... just force errors, give them no room, tackle.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wright is the sub again, means nothing to be named on the field.

I reckon CEY will be sub this week
not really a sub type player tho. has been very solid recently, more so than many others especially last week. doesnt deserve the vest and wont make an impact from the bench imo. start him and play sloane on the wing. have possibly cameron sub (although would like his forward pressure all game vs port's quick counter. WOULD like matt wright as sub but hes named on the pitch so guess that wont happen. WOULD like mackay as second option for sub but he won't be.

Subs generally been the player whoes on the way out.

It has made me think about how to use the sub in what is likely to be the last year it is a rule.

We have had roughly 850 games of AFL football since the AFL introduced the sub rule at the start of the 2011 season.

I would love to know the figures as to the amount of games in which a sub was introduced before half time. I would guesstimate at about 150 games and obviously all would be injury related.

In the rest of those games - subs usually come on halfway through the 3rd quarter and get about 10 touches and don't really have much of an influence. I just can't remember too many games where a sub came on and just blitzed it and had a significant impact.

My point is that the oncoming subs have very little impact on games of football. Its just something I have noticed and could be completely off the mark (if anyone has access to sub stats - would much appreciate it).

I just think that it would be great to use the sub differently for the rest of the year. Rather than having fringe players like Lyons & Grigg constantly using it - why not give it to players who are yet to play a game.

Kids who aren't AFL ready. Kids who haven't played a game of AFL football.

Would love to see Lever, Dear, Wigg, Atkins, Knight, Siggins, McGovern, Ramsey and Wilson all get this shot.

The benefits would be to give these guys a taste. See what its like to actually like to play AFL football. Let guys like Siggins pair with Talia. They will learn how to deal with proper pre game nerves, the preparation, the crowds, the speed of AFL football.

For me the benefits would far outweigh the risks. Would love to hear CEY's thoughts on this. He was on our list for two and a half years and was given a single quarter of football in Rd 12, 2014 against Freo. Came on when the game was pretty much lost and had 5 touches. He then went back and had a great preseason and will now play his 5th game in a row for us.

Now it could be absolute coincidence and his development may have been just as good if he didn't get a game in Rd 12, however I can't help but think that getting a taste of AFL football would be amazingly motivating.

I think you might be right. It is also possible we might see more of Hendo up forward, which would explain Kelly's continued selection upon Cheney's return. This will free Danger to spend much more time in the middle where he needs to be. Of course I could be wrong with all of the above, for who knows the mind of Phil (except those to whom it has been revealed)?

I got some SE Asians living with me who dress in flannelette pj's every day like it's freezing. It's 32C plus every day!

Perth weather is usually lovely. Took mine to Hong Kong in December. It was slightly chilly but she thought it was deathly cold. I went to China after that and it was evil kind of cold. Don't think she would've survived that if she'd come along.

Been meaning to ask...you spend way too much time on here like me...doesn't your missus get shitty with you?

I want to go to Tapei. I heard it's the next big thing in Asia .... and that the ladies are quite accommodating of a tourist.

Always end up going to Phils or Thailand tho. Like Banya with the meal, I know it's good but it's the same, Tapei is different but it might not be as good. I need a longer holiday.

She is always shitty so I can't tell :)

I'm going to Phils in 9 days and will be gone for 9 also, so I might get withdrawals.

I was always on a quiz site before I started posting on here again .... jetpunk, really fun site. I was actually really learning a lot. Now I just know a lot about football again and I don't really know anybody here who even follows the game ha ha.
