For what it’s worth I think Davo27 has pretty much given a very good list there and the separation points are a really good indicator.

His list of picks 10 - 23 is why I see a sweet spot in the draft with picks 10 -15, he has a few under 15 that I have sitting just outside, but thats neither here or there.
Any of the players listed 10 - 23 will be good selections.
I would add Burgiel and Hustwaite in that group as well.

So it’s not an even draft, they never are but in the main, I endorse Davos grouping.

Our current hand is a very good one, so there is no need to sell our selves short dealing with The Teal Tossers.

To be honest, Shep has no idea what he’s talking about. This draft is not even from 1-15

Love Shep but he’s kind of just hammering the oh WC will want WA mids rhetoric that the media spit out even know we almost always draft interstate talent with our first rounders

I can not stand when media / ex players give their opinions on the draft and all they have to offer is “take the homegrown kid” it’s just so lazy, especially when our retention rate is so good

IIRC - wasn’t Simmo interviewed after a ‘recent’ draft and said something similar? Maybe the go home factor is a consideration in our recruiters mind.

Having said that we do retain ‘imports’ pretty well. I do wonder if our retention rate is helped with our winning record. A spell at the lower end of the ladder may be revealing on this front.

tis a shame he doesnt get enough ball or instinctively look like getting more. That and his kicking is meh.

He is fast, powerful and has already played WAFL league though.

He's borderline top 20 for me but he did finish tye season well.

I've still got him there too, I really like him but the rating of him top 10 baffles me.

I certainly hope he isn't our choice at 8 if we shuffle back.

We drafted a kid with two bung shoulders - he ended up playing the greatest WAFL game of the last 60 years and won a Brownlow and us a premiership, and almost two.

Whatever the rent on that guy with the bung hammies is, it’s worth doing.

It's obviously super early days but if we had either of Daicos, JHF or Darcy - and again, I don't get to see loads of the draftees in action, but from what I've seen and read - I wouldn't want the club to trade them in a straight swap for any single player (i.e. pick #1) in this draft... And if pick 1 alone was enough to get one of those three, I would want the club to pull the trigger.

He played down the hammy concerns but expressed a pretty open opinion about wanting to get to the bombers. More honest than most draftees would be I think.

Ongoing injuries haven't dampened the spirits of George Wardlaw, who shapes as a potential No.1 pick in this year's NAB AFL Draft class

He will meet with clubs and undertake the AFL's medical screening this weekend at the NAB AFL Draft Combine in Melbourne, but is unlikely to test due to his injury-interrupted lead-in.

Expect those hammies to be under significant scrutiny. I’m still keen on him though.

Seems that Ashcroft, Cadman and Wardlaw are becoming a consensus top 3 by most accounts. Just depends who North want - a mid or a CHF.

Also depends on if we retain the pick or move back as floated. A Vic team could also be well into Sheezel and try move up to secure him also.
